Paul Ash

TILTON - Paul Lewis Ash, 93, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton, New Hampshire.

Born on September 27, 1932, in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, Paul was the son of Henry L. Ash and Isabel (Drew) Ash. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from June 1950 to June 1954. In recognition of his courage and dedicated service, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with three stars, the United Nations Service Medal, Purple Heart with one star, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Navy Occupation Medal.

Following his military service, Paul built a life marked by hard work and determination. He spent 40 years employed by Stanley Works in New Britain, Connecticut, where he was a dedicated and respected employee. In 1970, he became the owner of Vern's Package Store in Terryville, Connecticut, which he operated for 15 years with his first wife, Dorothy.

Paul was instrumental in the founding of the High Riders Snowmobile Club in Terryville, Connecticut, where he proudly served as president for many years.

He had a lifelong passion for sports and was a devoted fan of the New York Giants, especially Phil Simms, whom he received a personally autographed football from. He also enjoyed watching the New York Yankees, especially when they were winning. He also enjoyed following hockey, cheering for the New England Whalers of the WHA and later the NHL's Hartford Whalers. When the Whalers left Connecticut, Paul went through a period of not knowing who to cheer for, and without much forethought and intellect, he chose the Boston Bruins as his team. While many questioned his choice, he stood by stubbornly and proudly, just as he did with most things in life.

Paul was predeceased by his wife, Sharon Ash, and his sister, Betty Searle-Spratt.

He is survived by his three children: daughter Karen Balazy and her partner, John; daughter Terry Choquette and her partner, Rick; and son Heath Ash and his wife, Noreen. He was the proud grandfather of Bryan Balazy, Kalie Balazy, Kelsey Choquette, Aimee Choquette, Bryenna Morton, Brennan Ash, and Evyn Ash. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.

Paul's life was defined by service to his country, dedication to his work, and the many experiences he gathered throughout his long and eventful life. He will be remembered by those who knew him and by the family he leaves behind.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Interment will take place with military honors in recognition of his service to the United States Marine Corps.

Francis Aaron Muzzey

CONCORD --- Francis Aaron Muzzey, 84, of Wentworth, NH passed away on Sunday, June 07, 2026in Concord, NH. Francis was born on May 1, 1942 in Hanover, NH to the late Harry and Ruth Muzzey.

Francis attended the Wentworth Village School, Plymouth High School, and Plymouth State College, graduating from the latter in 1964 with an educational degree.

Francis had several jobs growing up, which included working on the family homestead as a youngster, delivering milk, Serving in the Army and teaching mathematics at Hopkinton N.H. High School retiring in 1994. Francis acquired his Broker's license 1990 and founded "Model A Realty" in 1991 having a love for the Model A Ford automobiles.

Francis was well known as a local historian, and for his passion for family, old roads, houses and cemeteries. He was well known for researching local genealogy and sharing his knowledge to those that shared his passion. He has written and published several articles and books.

Francis was an avid hiker, he hiked all of N.H 4000ft mountains as well as most all the trails in the region.

Francis was a member of the Wentworth School Board and served as Selectman for several years after his retirement from teaching.

Francis had his own opinion of many things, and didn't mind sharing this opinion with everyone as all of the local people know.

Francis was well loved and respected and will not easily be forgotten.

A graveside service for Francis Muzzey will take place on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 11:00 am at Foster Cemetery in Wentworth, NH.

Bruce Hart Kominz

Thornton- Bruce Hart Kominz, died peacefully in his sleep at his long time beloved home in Thornton NH, on the evening of May 18th 2026, due to complications of Parkinson's disease. He was born 17 February 1955, in Washington, D.C. (G.W. Hospital), grew up in Bethesda, MD. and in Tokyo/Kobe Japan, to parents Dr. David R. Kominz (Died, Nov. 4, 2022) and Eleanor Hart (Kominz) Condlife (Died, 17 May 2025). He was the third and final child and is survived by his loving wife Susan (Baker/Lheureux/Kominz and two step sons, Jason and David Lheureux), his brother Laurence Kominz (wife Toshimi, Son Leo, Daughter Maya) and by his sister Michelle Kominz.

He attended the University of New Hampshire (B.A. in economics/ minor in tech. Theater), and after graduation was commissioned (at Officer School Newport, R.I.) an Ensign in the United States Navy. He went on to serve on the U.S.S. Kawishiwi (AO-146) - a fleet oiler, where he was the ships legal officer. He then went on to aviation/pilot training on the T-34C turboprop and T-2C jet. He incurred a heart attack and finished his career in Damage Control School (Instructor) and was retired as a Lieutenant (O-3).

He returned to N.H. and received both a Master of Business Administration and Master of Education from Plymouth State College. He taught classes at PCS on subjects such as accounting and economics and was warmly regarded by his students.

He was also a "Free and Accepted Mason", having been Master of his Lodge (Olive Branch #16, in Plymouth N.H.) six years, as well as a "Grand Lodge Officer", serving as a "District Education Officer", "District Deputy Grand Lecturer" and finally a "District Deputy Grand Master". He was a strong proponent of the masons and was proud of his work to expand their reach and reputation in NH.

Bruce was also a lifelong traveler of almost every continent of the globe. His favorite way to travel was via trains and he poured his love of trains into his impressive, fully detailed model train setup. He was also involved with both Civil war and Revolutionary war re-enacting and sailed on the replica wooden ship the Endeavor. He spent many hours playing board games and filling out his favorite "madlibs".

He will be buried with full military honors at 3pm on June 24th at the NH veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. A celebration of life will be held after the burial, at the Barn on the Pemi- Rt 3 in Plymouth next to the Italian farmhouse 5-8pm.

Claire Ellen Robinson

MEREDITH --- Claire "Carrie" Robinson began her new journey on May 30. 2026. She was surrounded by numerous family and friends who adored her.

Carrie and her twin "Butch" were born on May 25, 1946, in Montpelier, Vermont.

She graduated from Spaulding High School and worked at Vermont Mutual Insurance. Later she moved to Boston, MA and was employed as an underwriter at H.T Bailey Insurance. She continued employment there for many years, becoming owner along with her husband, David.

Carrie and Dave lived in MA until buying property on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. They had many friends and family who visited and were lavishly entertained. Her husband David died in 2015.

Although they never had children, Carrie "mothered" many young adults who needed a temporary home.

She was beautiful, generous, kind, and in the end, she developed a wonderful sense of humor.

She leaves her brother, Kermit Thompson and partner "Jarbo", her sister Linda Thompson Usle and husband Ray. She leaves many nieces and nephews, her stepson Gregory Robinson and wife Debbie.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled at 11:30 am on June 17, 2026, at the Church Landing Meredith, NH.

William Melvin Donohoe

WILLIAM M. "BILL" DONOHOE

MEREDITH --- Bill Donohoe, of Meredith, NH, age 96, passed away in May 2026 at Golden View Health Care Center, and his soul went to be with Lord Jesus. Bill was born December 13, 1929 in Tacoma Park, MD, but lived in Washington, D.C. His parents, Thomas and Jean Fotheringham Donohoe moved from Washington D.C. to Orlando, FL in 1945. Family survivors are: his wife and best friend, Nancy, married June 8, 1957; their son Mark and his wife Tami of Meredith, NH; their daughter Vicki Donohoe of Danbury, CT; and daughter Dana and her husband Gerry Pesavento of Davis, CA; Mark & Tami's children, Sean, Kendall and Liam; Vicki's boys, Garrett, Brett and Shane Dalton; and Dana and Gerry's girls, Risa and Sara; sisters Doris Bee and Jean Fleming of Orlando, FL.

In 1948 Bill graduated from Castle Heights Military Academy, Lebanon, TN. He worked for the Orlando Cadillac dealer from 1948 until 1950, as a co-op student with General Motors Institute, (GMI), Flint, MI. In 1950, Bill joined the Pontiac Motor Division of GM. In 1954, Bill earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University).

Bill was on a military leave of absence from GM from 1954 to 1958. After graduating from U.S. Naval OCS in Newport, RI, he became an officer in 1955. Bill earned his Navy wings in Pensacola and flew fighter jets. He graduated from the Naval School of Justice and served as Squadron Legal Officer, in addition to his flying duties.

Bill returned to Pontiac in 1958. While working, he earned his MBA from the University of Detroit. Bill had many field sales positions working with Pontiac dealers. He also served as Pontiac's National Dealer Business Management Manager and later as National Director of Car Distribution. In 1978, he transferred to Cadillac in Detroit, where he served as National Director of Car Distribution and then Regional Sales Manager for the mid-west. Bill left GM in mid-1984 to join the Toyota distributor for five southeastern states. Bill served as a Vice President and retired in 1994.

He & Nancy moved to Meredith in 1995. He served as a Deacon and Treasurer for Grace Presbyterian Church in Laconia. Bill ran live financial seminars for Crown Financial Ministries. He also volunteered as a Crown Budget Coach to help people get out of debt. For 14 years, he taught a finance/economics class at Laconia Christian. Bill lived a long and dedicated Christian life and will be greatly missed by his family, church and friends.

Warren Alfred MacDonald Jr.

GILFORD - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Warren Alfred MacDonald Jr., who left us in Concord, New Hampshire, on May 6, 2026, following a brief illness at the age of 90. Born on March 7, 1936, in Malden, Massachusetts, Warren grew up in Revere, Massachusetts, where he began a journey marked by service, dedication, and love.

After graduating high school, Warren served in the United States Navy and later joined the Army National Guard, dedicating twenty years of honorable service to his country. He married the love of his life, Joyce Janet MacDonald (Messier), and together they built a family rooted in warmth, loyalty, and devotion. Warren was predeceased by his beloved wife Joyce, as well as his parents, Warren A. MacDonald Sr. and Mildred Agnes MacDonald (Dahl).

Warren's life was defined by hard work and integrity. He attended mechanic school, worked at New Hampshire Ball Bearings, and devoted more than thirty years of service to the New Hampshire Electric Cooperative, where he was respected for his reliability and strong work ethic.

A man of many interests, Warren cherished time spent with family and friends. He had a lifelong fascination with railroads and history, and he loved to travel-touring Europe by boat and train and exploring the United States in his fifth wheel. He enjoyed meeting new people, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, and was a proud member of the Sno-Streakers Snowmobile Club in the 1970s.

Warren was also a devoted supporter of his fellow veterans. As a member of the American Legion Post #33 in Meredith, he volunteered his time placing flags on veterans' graves each Memorial Day, honoring those who served with the same quiet dignity that defined his own life.

He is survived by his sons, Eric MacDonald and daughter-in-law Lorrie of Gilford, and Davin MacDonald and daughter-in-law Aurora of Tipp City, Ohio; his grandchildren David MacDonald and wife Leticia, Steven MacDonald, Grayson MacDonald, Campbell MacDonald, and Madeline Baker; his sister Brenda Adams and husband Bill Adams of East Lake, NH and Lakeland, FL; niece Tiffany Brand, husband Stephen Brand of Rochester, NH; nephew Bill Adams, wife Denise Adams of Rochester; his brother Russ MacDonald and wife Marie del Carmen MacDonald of Madrid, Spain; nephew Bill MacDonald, wife Carmela MacDonald; niece Mari Carmen Gascon (MacDonald), husband Javier Gascon; niece Elizabeth Blanco (MacDonald), husband German Blanco; nephew Mike MacDonald, wife Beatriz MacDonald, all of Madrid, Spain; and many cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Warren will be remembered for his kindness, curiosity, love of learning, and unwavering devotion to his family and community. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever lovingly remembered.

Graveside services will be held on June 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Oakland Cemetery, 73 Meredith Center Road, Meredith.

Mary Patricia Mirkin

LEBANNON --- Mary Patricia (Heuglin) Mirkin, of Rumney, NH, passed away on May 13, 2026, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, after a sudden illness. She was known for her kind and caring nature, and beloved by all who knew her.

Mary was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky where she was educated at Presentation High School and the University of Louisville, graduating in 1974. She later returned to U of L and earned her Masters in Social Work in 1998. After volunteering with the Peace Corps in East Africa, she had a long and honorable career as a social worker and equal employment specialist.

Mary first came to New Hampshire with her husband Steve in 1983, and they lived in Concord until 1989; their two children were born there. The family relocated back to Louisville then, but Mary and Steve eventually returned to New Hampshire, and settled in Rumney, in 2013. Prior to her retirement, Mary was a social worker at the Central New Hampshire Visiting Nurse Association, and volunteered with Got Lunch Rumney. She was a devotee of French food and culture, dating back to time she spent living and working in Provence in the 70's, and was overjoyed to have finally gotten her husband to road-trip all over France with her in 2018. She also enjoyed the numerous times her husband dragged her down to his beloved New Orleans. After retiring she devoted herself to working in her herb garden, walking around and kayaking on Stinson Lake, keeping track of the neighborhood birds and butterflies, hiking in the White Mountains, watching British movies and serials, travelling around New England and eastern Canada, and most importantly, doting on her four grandchildren -- wheeling them around the parks of Boston and the trails of the Pioneer Valley, taking them to libraries and bookstores, and playing at the lake. She will always be remembered for having roared down the mountain late one night to deliver her daughter to the hospital when her granddaughter Lula decided to make her appearance 11 weeks early; and also for the grit and determination she showed in fighting all the way back from a stroke in 2024 and then a serious car wreck in 2025.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, William A. and Patricia (Mulloy) Heuglin, by her aunt Barbara Mulloy Tichenor, and her uncle Bobby Mulloy. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Sheldon "Steve" Mirkin; by her son Joe Mirkin (Sophia Pastore) of Greenfield, Mass., her daughter Laura Bradley (Corey) of Wellesley, Mass., her grandchildren Felix and Theo Mirkin and Louise "Lula" and Jack Bradley; by her sister, Teresa Leake (Mike) of Louisville, her brother Bill Heuglin (Laurie) of Louisville, her sister-in-law, Ellen Michelson (Sonny) of Sharon, Mass., her uncles Joe Mulloy (Karen) of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Michael Mulloy (Linda) of Springfield, Virginia; and by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and -nephews.

There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, June 27, at 1:00 PM, at the All Peoples Unitarian Universalist Church on Brownsboro Road, Louisville, Ky.

Barbara J Kerr

Center Sandwich- Barbara Johnson Kerr, 89, of Center Sandwich, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026.

Barbara was born in Waltham, Massachusetts, to Daisy and Donald Johnson. Along with her sister, Debbi Johnson Whyte, they lived in Wellesley, Massachusetts and spent weekends and summers in Sandwich, a place that would remain her lifelong home in spirit. Barbara often fondly recalled packing the car in Wellesley for the drive north to New Hampshire, remembering how, once the family arrived in Sandwich, everyone relaxed and settled into the joy and peace of time together.

Barbara attended the University of Massachusetts and pledged to the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. While raising her three children in Hamilton, Massachusetts during the 1970s and 1980s, Barbara built a successful career and rose through the ranks to become manager of the Appleseed's store in Beverly. In 2002, she retired to her beloved Sandwich, where she embraced the life she cherished most. She spent her days gardening, playing tennis, sitting at the beach, swimming in the lake, and supporting the Sandwich Historical Society.

Nothing brought Barbara greater happiness than spending time with her family and watching them thrive. Her devotion to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was the center of her life, and the joy she found in being together with them only deepened over the years.

Barbara is survived by her three children and their spouses: Arthur "Fritz" and Mio Kerr, Debbi Kerr and Charlie Augustine, and Lee and Bob Donnelly. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Elsa Augustine (Ilan Shomorony), Anna Kerr (Soren Cowger), Leo Kerr (Meredith Brown), Erik Augustine (Nadja Leonhard-Hooper), and Lucia Donnelly; and by her two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Lyla Shomorony.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Roads End Farm, 511 North Sandwich Road, North Sandwich, New Hampshire. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Barbara's life.

William Axel Lewis

MOULTONBOROUGH --- William "Bill" Axel Lewis, 77, of Moultonborough, NH, passed away peacefully at home on May 13, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on June 15, 1948. Bill lived a life filled with laughter, adventure, service, and deep devotion to those he loved.

Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary E. Lewis, who passed away in 2011, as well as his parents, William L. Lewis (1993) and Ilene M. Lewis (Anderson) (1999).

He leaves behind his loving family: his three daughters, Bobbi-Jo Trodella and her husband Tony of Auburn, MA; Nicole Proulx and her husband Aaron of Londonderry, NH; and Sheri Lothridge and her husband Robert of St. Cloud, FL.

Bill was lovingly known as "Other B" and "Papa" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His grandchildren include Tyler Anderson and his wife Brittany of Wilbraham, MA; Emily Dixon and her husband Steven of Worcester, MA; Nora Proulx; Levi Proulx; and Sarah Lothridge, His great-grandchildren include Axel Anderson, Avery Anderson, Audrey Dixon, and a great-granddaughter expected in November.

He is also survived by his dear sister, Virginia Lincoln, widow of the late Richard Lincoln (2018) of Old Orchard Beach, ME, along with many nieces, nephews, close friends whom he loved dearly, and his beloved cat, Bozo, who brought him comfort and companionship during his final days."

A graduate of Framingham North High School in Framingham, MA, Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed a life filled with fishing, boating, snowmobiling, and driving the back roads of New Hampshire in search of wildlife. He cherished time spent with family and friends and was known for his quick wit, humor, and ability to make everyone laugh. He enjoyed playing Keno and scratching lottery tickets, always enjoying the excitement of a chance to win the million. He will be remembered for his big heart and unforgettable personality.

A military graveside service will be held on May 30th at 2:30 pm at Shannon Cemetery in Moultonborough, NH with a celebration of life to follow.
