Soooo Kaumari is determined to be original and stand out in her school uniform EVERYDAY!! She said that she wore all black today so that everyone would notice her shoes, heart belt, bracelet, and he big bow. It would all stand out!! I was like ooohhh okay, so that's how you make it work. She picks out her own accessories for school.

Moral of the story: Just because we look the same doesn't mean we cant be different. She has learned that she doesn't have to follow the crowd completely. She wears the accessories that SHE likes and has learned that the key to standing out is confidence. Kaumari is not boastful or proud, she is just confident in her own skin. I value her opinions and have allowed her to find her voice. She is so outgoing, the sweetest little person, and loves hard. Allow your kids to try new things, listen to their opinions, have the tough discussions at their level, don't dismiss questions, practice real life situations, tell them the real reasons, allow them to try, but also allow them to fail.

To all my breastfeeding moms, do not give up, get help!!!

I had a mom today that was having issues latching baby who had been using a ni**le shield for almost a month. It seemed like mom had the general idea but baby was just pulling off as soon as she latched and mom was in pain but pushing through. We discussed positions, performed them with baby, found a different one and bam, it all made sense. Baby latched and mom wasn't in pain.

I told that story because sometimes it can be a simple fix and breastfeeding becomes enjoyable!! Breastfeeding isn't easy, some of us will have to go through trial and error to get it right. What looked like a simple fix was a lifesaver for that mom. If breastfeeding were easy, people like myself would not have a job. There are NO stupid questions!!!
