June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month π
This month is an opportunity to break the silence of the battles that many men face alone and that are often not visible. Too many times, men are told to "tough things out" or put on a brave face for those around them. This month challenges those outdated expectations. It's encouraging to know that your mental health matters, and it's one of the greatest investments that can be made for yourself and those who love you. Reaching out when you need support doesn't make you weak. When you take the steps needed to care for yourself, you are doing something that takes strength and courage.
Let this post serve as a meaningful reminder to check in on the men you know and love who always say they're fine, whether that be fathers, brothers, sons, husbands, friends, coworkers, or neighbors. And if you are a man reading this, check in with how you feel, too. Remind yourself that it's okay to not be okay all the time, and it's absolutely okay to not have it all figured out. Help is available, hope is possible, and there are people who care!
