Today we recognize World Lung Cancer Day and raise awareness about one of the most common cancers worldwide. Early detection, prevention, and access to care can make a meaningful difference in outcomes.

Let’s encourage awareness of risk factors, support those affected, and promote the importance of regular health screenings and conversations with healthcare providers.
Together, we can continue working toward better prevention, treatment, and hope.

Today is World Hepatitis Day, a global reminder of the importance of prevention, testing, and treatment of viral hepatitis. Millions of people are affected worldwide, many without even knowing it.
Hepatitis B and C can often go undetected for years, which is why awareness and regular screening are so important. Early detection and proper care can save lives and prevent long-term liver damage.

Let’s work together to raise awareness, encourage testing, and support efforts to eliminate hepatitis for good.

Congratulations, Mr. Anderson, on this meaningful and well-deserved recognition.

The Mississippi Hospital Association (MHA) Board of Governors has elected John Anderson, Administrator and CEO of Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, as its 2026-2027 Chairman. His term begins today, July 1. He succeeds Jim Hobson of Magnolia Regional Health Center.

“John’s proven leadership will be instrumental as we advocate for policies that sustain and strengthen healthcare access across our state. We also thank Jim Hobson for his outstanding service," said Richard Roberson, MHA President and CEO.

Congratulations, John! We look forward to your leadership as MHA approaches its 100th year.
