“One of the biggest misconceptions about autism is that it’s purely genetic.” 🧠

In this week’s episode of the FMI Podcast, Amber Warren, PA-C, and Dr. Brian Hauser dive into the growing research showing that autism may be influenced by much more than genetics alone.

They explore how environmental exposures, gut health, inflammation, toxins, nutrition, mitochondrial function, and even preconception health may all play a role in neurodevelopment.

And while that conversation can feel overwhelming at first… it’s also incredibly hopeful. 💛

Because if there are modifiable factors contributing to dysfunction in the body, that means there are also ways we can support healing, improve function, and better care for future generations.

This episode is a reminder that children deserve more than symptom management. They deserve care that looks deeper.

In this powerful section of the FMI Podcast, host Amber Warren, PA-C, sits down with Dr. Brian Hauser to discuss how many children on the autism spectrum may experience subtle seizure activity that often goes unnoticed, especially absence seizures that can look like staring spells, disrupted sleep, or difficulty focusing.

They continue the discussion on how inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and brain health may all play a role in neurodevelopmental conditions.

This is exactly why root-cause medicine matters:
Sometimes the symptoms we see on the surface are connected to something happening much deeper in the body.

The conversation is fascinating, hopeful, and full of information every parent should hear. 🎧

If your child is struggling with focus or attention,
it may be a sign their body needs more support.

Focus is influenced by things like nutrition, gut health, sleep, and blood sugar balance, not just the brain alone.

When these are off, you might notice:
• Short attention span
• Mood swings
• Trouble learning or retaining information

Natural support can include:
✨ Targeted nutrients
✨ Gut health support
✨ Balanced meals
✨ Better sleep routines

Small changes can make a meaningful difference.

At FMI, our pediatric team takes a deeper look to support focus from the inside out.

There’s something powerful about hearing a provider speak from both professional expertise and personal experience. 💛

In this week’s episode of the FMI Podcast, Amber Warren, PA-C, sits down with Dr. Brian Hauser to have an honest, hope-filled conversation about autism, root-cause medicine, and the growing need for a different approach to pediatric health care.

But what makes this episode especially meaningful is taking the conversation beyond symptoms and diagnoses and asking the deeper questions parents are already wondering:
✨ Why are rates continuing to rise?
✨ What role do nutrition, toxins, gut health, and inflammation play?
✨ Are there things families can do early on to support their children?
✨ And most importantly… is there hope?

Together, Amber and Dr. Hauser explore how functional medicine is changing the conversation around autism spectrum disorder by focusing on personalized care, early intervention, and addressing underlying imbalances rather than simply managing symptoms.

This episode is educational, emotional, and incredibly empowering for parents navigating developmental concerns or simply wanting to better support their child’s long-term health.

Your grip strength may reveal more about your future health than you think 👀💪

New research shows that handgrip strength, a quick and simple test, is strongly linked to overall longevity and risk of chronic disease. In other words, muscle strength isn’t just about fitness… it’s a powerful marker of long-term health.

The good news? Building strength doesn’t require perfection. Small, consistent habits like movement, quality nutrition, sleep, and stress management can make a big impact over time. ✨

At FMI, we believe prevention is powerful. The body gives us clues long before disease develops, and paying attention to those signals can help you build a stronger, healthier future.

Strength is longevity. Test it. Build it. Live it. 🤍

Everyone’s talking about weight loss peptides… but not everyone’s telling the full story 👀

Today we're throwing it back to Episode 73, where hosts Amber Warren, PA-C, & Dr. Mark Holthouse break down what’s actually driving results, and where most people go wrong.

Yes, peptides can be a helpful tool.
But without addressing nutrition, lifestyle, hormones, muscle mass, and gut health… results are often short-lived.

In this clip, we touch on one of the biggest issues we see. Why weight regain happens after stopping. But that’s just one piece of a much bigger conversation.

If you’re considering peptides (or currently using them), this episode will give you the context most people are missing.

🎧 Listen now to learn how to approach fat loss in a way that actually lasts.
