Today was an exciting day for For the Culture Therapy! Yesterday, I had the final design meeting with my designer from Wayfair and selected the remaining items for my office.

I had a few items on the way, but today I ordered everything else. The items needed to complete three of my offices are on the way! By Thursday, everything will be here and the offices will be set up.

Today, I also got my first item in my office assembled and set up. It’s a beginning.

The last big win for the day is that I signed my first subleasing agreement with an amazingly cool clinician! I am officially a landlord again y’all! Which means I have a second stream of income, albeit a small one.

Big things are happening! Stay tuned!

Today, that meant seeing clients in my still-empty new office!
No furniture yet. No perfect backdrop. Just me, doing the work I love with what I have.

Just a little preview!

My office before and me in my office now, walking through getting finishing touches done. I am so excited! In exactly two weeks, I should be ready to have my first client there.

The office is located in Merrillville, IN and will feature trauma-informed design. Warm lighting, optional calming scents, texture, weighted blankets available for grounding, fidgets, and more. Designed with nervous system regulation in mind.

A lot of what we think is our “personality” are really just trauma responses and bad habits. Who were you at 8? Or before that thing happened to you?

I was a nerd, a reader, a super tidy person, fiercely independent, in love with cooking and food, a mama bear (to my baby cousin), an artist, a traveler, a person who loved a good stage or an audience—basically the same exact person I am getting back to at 45. And it feels great!
