July flew by, but we made so many incredible memories at the Clubhouse! Here is a quick look back at what kept us busy:We entered a float in the Merrillville 4th of July Parade for the first time ever.

Our podcast is officially backcheck out Holidays and Mental Health on YouTube. We connected with local businesses at the community job fair.

We shared banana splits at our Ice Cream Social, rolled some dice during D&D night, and hung out during Friday board game night.

A big, warm welcome to all of our new and returning members who joined us this past month. You make this community what it is! Now that August is here, we're getting ready to head to the Lake County Fair!

We're proud to celebrate New Beginnings Clubhouse member and Advisory Board Member Dashawn Peterson who was recently featured in The Times of Northwest Indiana's daily newspaper, in a column by Jerry Davich (publishing date: 6/25/2026)

The article highlights DaShawn's personal journey, including his experiences with mental health, autism, ADHD, faith, advocacy, and the important role New Beginnings Clubhouse has played in helping him build confidence, leadership skills, purpose, and meaningful community connections.

DaShawn's story is a powerful reminder of what recovery looks like when people have access to support, opportunity, and a community where they belong.

Congratulations, DaShawn! Thank you for sharing your story and for being an outstanding advocate for mental health and the Clubhouse model.
