In Loving Memory of Dr. Dwight F. Damon
One Year Later – Forever Remembered
Today marks one year since the passing of Dr. Dwight F. Damon, founder and longtime leader of the National Guild of Hypnotists.
As we reflect on his life and legacy, we do so with both sadness and profound gratitude. Dr. Damon devoted his life to advancing the profession of hypnotism, building the National Guild of Hypnotists into the world's largest and most respected hypnosis organization. His vision, leadership, and unwavering dedication created opportunities for generations of hypnotists around the globe.
More than his accomplishments, we remember the man behind them—a mentor, teacher, friend, and inspiration to countless individuals. His kindness, integrity, wisdom, and commitment to excellence touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Although Dr. Damon is no longer with us, his influence continues to guide our organization and the profession he loved so deeply. His values remain woven into the fabric of the NGH, and his vision continues to inspire our work each day.
On this anniversary, we honor his memory, celebrate his extraordinary life, and reaffirm our commitment to carrying forward the mission he began so many decades ago.
Dr. Damon, your legacy lives on in every member, every Certified Instructor, every student, and every life touched through hypnosis.
You are deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever appreciated.

Founding member of the National Guild of Hypnotists in 1950, Dr. Damon started his career with Dr. Rexford L. North at the Hypnotism Center in Boston. He is the author and co-author of numerous articles and books on hypnotism and motivation. He has also maintained very successful careers as a Doctor of Chiropractic, television personality, motivational author/speaker and theatrical entrepreneur. President of the Guild, Dr. Damon is Editor of the Journal of Hypnotism, Hypno-Gram, and Hypnosis Today.
Dr. Damon is recognized internationally as “the founding father of hypnotism as a separate and distinct profession.
He is the president of the National Guild of Hypnotists, Inc.

It doesn’t seem possible that it has been over a quarter of a century since our first National Guild convention in 1988, but it’s true. Our organization of dedicated professionals has moved upward and onward in so many ways in the seventy-four years since the official founding of the NGH in 1950.

This is our 39th convention and we are the premier forum for sharing the study of hypnosis in a gathering of like-minded professionals from around the world. Our volunteer committee has chosen an adjunct faculty to bring us a diverse list of topics concerning the professional practice of hypnotism.

When you attend our convention, you can construct your individualized curriculum from almost 200 topics that are offered. You can also attend full-day paid Summer Institute courses before and after the actual convention schedule, if you wish. An important part of our annual convention is making new friendships and renewing old ones with colleagues from around the world.

It is truly the unique once-a-year event that is often copied, but never equaled, according to our attendees. Every page in our catalog offers interesting presentations with topics that will add to your professional expertise.

You can make your choices and organize a one-of-a-kind weekend suited to your own personal desires. Our Saturday Night Extravaganza is going to be as much or even more fun than previous years!

Our Banquet and Awards Recognition Ceremony will also include cash and merchandise giveaways for some lucky attendees.
