🕯️ Honoring a Life of Caring and Compassion 🕯️
It was a true honor for Sunflower Cremation and Burial to have the Nursing Honor Guard present at a recent service to pay tribute to a fellow nurse.

The presence of the Honor Guard is a beautiful nursing tradition. The lantern they carry represents the light of Florence Nightingale — a symbol of knowledge, compassion, service, and the guiding light nurses bring to those in their care.

During the ceremony, the Florence Nightingale Pledge is recited as a reminder of the commitment nurses make to serve others with dedication, dignity, and compassion.
The Nursing Honor Guard attends funerals to recognize and honor the life and service of a nurse, while offering comfort and support to their family and loved ones. It is a meaningful way for the nursing community to say, “We remember you. We honor your service. You will not be forgotten.”
