Meet Phil, our Arizona native who's been guiding patients and visitors with a smile for the past 3 years! With over 600 service hours as a PAS Es**rt volunteer, Phil has truly found his calling!

After retiring, Phil initially considered Dog Therapy but discovered his perfect fit in escorting—combining his love of meeting new people with his passion for staying active (and getting those steps in!).

His favorite memory? Day one of training, when he had to quickly navigate people through staircases while still learning the hospital layout himself! Talk about thinking on your feet! 😄

Phil, thank you for your dedication, your warm welcome to everyone you meet, and for being such a reliable guide through Banner Health. You make every journey a little easier! ✨

Banner Children's was among the first organizations in the nation to offer car seat safety training. For over 25 years, we've been committed to injury prevention through education and hands-on support. We're proud to continue our partnership with Hyundai Hope On Wheels to expand car seat safety education across our community.

"Our Car Seat Safety Program provides not only car seats and installation assistance for families in need, but also vitally important injury prevention education," said our CEO Laura Robertson. "It is thanks to generous partners like Hyundai that we can continue to provide this support to the kids and families we care for in our hospitals. We are exceedingly grateful for this gift."

Together, we're building safer communities for our children.

We'd like to introduce you to Sarahi, a volunteer at the West Main Information Desk. On top of balancing her time of being a full-time high school student athlete and being in the EVIT program, Sarahi has managed to accumulate a total of 294 hours of her donated time to volunteering at Banner Desert over the span of 5 months. Sarahi gets along with all her fellow volunteers and is one of the first to help someone when they need it. We describe Sarahi as hardworking, reliable, and good-natured. We are very grateful to have a volunteer like Sarahi.
