Who says hydration has to be boring? πŸ’§πŸ“

If plain water isn't your favorite, you're not alone.

One of the easiest ways to build healthy habits is to make them enjoyable. This simple mocktail combines black tea, berries, fresh mint, and sparkling water for a refreshing summer drink that's as beautiful as it is delicious.

Healthy habits don't have to be perfect.
They just have to work for you.

πŸ’™ What's your favorite way to make hydration more enjoyable?

What a privilege to spend yesterday morning with so many dedicated therapists discussing a topic I'm deeply passionate about: the role nutrition can play in mental health.

We explored how blood sugar dysregulation, gut health, food sensitivities, and nutrient deficiencies can sometimes mimic or magnify symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other mental health conditions.

Every therapist in that room is already doing meaningful work. My hope was simply to offer one more lens through which to view healing and one more opportunity for collaboration.

Thank you to everyone who attended, asked thoughtful questions, and continues investing in the people you serve. And a special thank you to Laura and Majo for the invitation and for creating such a welcoming environment. It was a privilege to spend the morning with you all.

Because when we care for the whole person, everyone benefits. πŸ’œ

Brain fog.

Cranky.

Tired.

Drained.

We often assume we need a complicated solution.

Sometimes the answer is much simpler.

Hydration affects energy, mood, concentration, and how we feel throughout the day.

Before you overcomplicate it...

Start with water. πŸ’§

Please tell me I'm not alone. πŸ˜‚

Sometimes I think I'm overwhelmed...
..and then I realize I just needed one of the following:

πŸ₯ͺ Food
πŸ’§ Water
😴 Sleep
🚽 A bathroom

Before you assume something is wrong, try asking:

"What does my body need right now?"

πŸ‘‡ Which one gets you every time?

"I don't like the taste of water."

If I had a dollar for every time I've heard that from a client... 😊

The good news is you don't have to force yourself to love plain water to stay hydrated.

I put together a few simple ideas you can try instead. Save this one for later!

I had three to four anxiety attacks a day for seven years.

I tried doctors, medication, and counseling. Nothing worked until a friend suggested I see a naturopath.

That one appointment changed the entire trajectory of my life.

In this conversation with on the Practitioners RISE podcast, I share the full story.

πŸŽ™οΈ We cover:

➑️ What a naturopath found right away that seven years of doctors and medication had missed
➑️ The blood sugar crash that can feel almost exactly like an anxiety attack
➑️ Why most of your mood-regulating chemicals are made in your gut, not your brain
➑️ Why I don't believe in one-size-fits-all diets, and what I look at instead to figure out what your body actually needs

If you've ever been told your anxiety is "just anxiety," I think you'll want to hear this one.

Wait...

Let me clean that up.

The goal isn't a perfect holiday diet.

It's feeling good enough to actually enjoy the holiday.

This red, white, and blue chicken salad brings protein, fiber, healthy fats, and plenty of flavor to the table.

Comment FIREWORKS and I'll send you the recipe.

I've started asking myself a different question on difficult days:

Not:

"What's wrong with me?"

But:

Last week, I found myself standing outside at 5:30 a.m., already sweating and wondering why I felt so tired after a perfectly normal morning walk.

Which led me to ask a question I think we overlook far too often:

What if your brain is simply thirsty?

In this month's blog post, I explore what the research says about hydration, mood, brain fog, anxiety, and why dehydration doesn't always feel like thirst.

Sometimes your brain isn't failing. Sometimes it's just thirsty.

People laugh at the size of my purse when I travel.

Then someone needs water.

Or a snack.

Or electrolytes.

Or digestive support.

And suddenly I'm everyone's favorite travel companion.

Your brain travels with you too.

Pack accordingly. ✈️
