You don’t have to carry this week into the weekend. 🍂

Whatever this week held, you’re allowed to set it down for a little while. It’ll still be there Monday, and you’ll meet it rested.

Be gentle with yourself tonight. 🤍

Every year, the trees let go before they grow again. 🍁

Maybe that’s permission for us too. Growth doesn’t always look like adding more. Sometimes it looks like releasing what’s no longer serving you: an old belief, a pattern, a relationship, a version of yourself you’ve outgrown. What is it time to let go of? 👇

New season, new routines, new stress. 🍂

Between school starting, shorter days, and schedules shifting, transitions like this can quietly wear on the whole family, even when nothing is “wrong.”

A few gentle reminders as you settle into fall:

🍂 It’s okay to feel off during a transition
🍂 New routines take time to feel normal
🍂 Give yourself (and your family) some grace right now

If this season is feeling heavier than expected, that’s worth paying attention to, not pushing through. 💛

FallSeason

Emotions can change like the sky. 🌥️

One minute it’s calm, the next it’s stormy, and both are okay.

When emotions run high, try this:

🌤️ Pause
🌤️ Breathe
🌤️ Name what you’re feeling
🌤️ Do the next small thing

And ask yourself: what can I control right now? 🤍
Grounding doesn’t stop the storm, it just helps you stand steady in it.

Therapy SelfRegulation

09/30/2026

Sometimes healing work asks us to go into difficult places.

During trauma therapy, something as simple as a familiar scent can provide a gentle sensory anchor, a reminder that you are here, in this moment, and safe enough to pause.

Essential oils can be incorporated into therapy as one possible grounding tool. The scent can give the brain something present-focused to notice when emotions feel overwhelming or when you need help reconnecting with your body and surroundings.

It isn’t about the oil “healing” the trauma.

It’s about creating a moment to breathe, notice, and recenter.

Trauma therapy can be hard work. Having simple tools that help you come back to the present can make space for that work to happen at a pace that feels manageable.

Healing doesn’t always have to be about pushing through. Sometimes, it’s about coming back to yourself.

If you’re looking for support navigating trauma, Cedarhurst Counseling is here to help.
