Dizziness, fatigue, brain fog, rapid heart rate, and fainting aren’t always “just anxiety,” dehydration, or being out of shape.

A tilt table test helps us see how your heart rate and blood pressure respond when your body moves upright.

This information can help identify or rule out conditions such as:

✨ Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)
✨ Orthostatic Intolerance (OI)
✨ Neurogenic Orthostatic Hypotension (OH)
✨ Cardiogenic Orthostatic Hypotension (OH)

While the diagnosis itself is made by a physician, physical therapists trained in dysautonomia and autonomic dysfunction can often screen for these issues and recognize when further testing or referral is needed.

The goal isn’t just to collect numbers.

The goal is to connect the dots between your symptoms and what’s happening inside your body so you can get the right treatment.

Have you ever had your blood pressure and heart rate checked while lying down, sitting, and standing?

📩 Comment CHECKLIST and I’ll send you my Dysautonomia Symptom Checklist.

Backpacking was never in my radar growing up, especially coming from a family of immigrants. “It’s some rich people ish”, I used to say.

But backpacking has taught me some things about my health and life in general.

1. You can’t carry everything, it makes the journey harder.

2. Slow progress is still progress.

3. Take breaks! Rest is part of the journey.

4. Preparation matters.

5. Know how to adapt and keep going (don’t waste your energy, it’s valuable).

6. Learn from the experience and make modifications.

The goal is the experience.
The views. The adventure.
The people.
The memories.

Healing is a journey and will never be perfect, but you can always aim to Stay Balanced, Homie✌🏽

Pelvic floor issues, dizziness, and headaches may have something in common:

✨ Your autonomic nervous system ✨

When this system is out of balance, your body can have trouble adjusting to everyday stress, activity, and even rest.

This is common in dysautonomia, but many people are never told these symptoms may be connected.

Want to learn how your sensory system can help regulate your nervous system?

Follow me or send me a message, and I’ll cover it in an upcoming video.

Years ago, I was exhausted all the time (& sometimes still struggle).

I had to slowly learn what was contributing to my fatigue and dysautonomia symptoms.

For me, that meant:
🥗 improving my nutrition
💧staying hydrated
🧂increasing my salt intake
🧘🏻‍♀️ taking rest breaks before I crashed
🛌 improving my sleep habits
🧠 finding sensory strategies that helped regulate my nervous system
👂🏽 learning to listen to my body instead of fighting it

None of those things changed overnight.

But they added up.

And eventually those small changes gave me the confidence to start chasing adventures again.

What’s one thing you’ve done that has helped you feel more like yourself?

Many people don’t realize the autonomic nervous system influences:

✨ bladder function
✨ bowel function
✨ arousal
✨ lubrication
✨ er****on
✨ blood flow
✨ muscle tension

Including the muscles of the pelvic floor.

When the nervous system is stuck in a state of protection, the pelvic floor may become overactive, tense, and less coordinated.

This can contribute to:

⚡ pelvic pain
⚡ pain with intimacy
⚡ urinary urgency or frequency
⚡ constipation
⚡ difficulty with arousal or or**sm

Your pelvic floor is constantly communicating with your brain, breathing system, sensory systems, & autonomic nervous system.

Many people seeking help for pelvic floor symptoms (and healthcare workers) don’t realize dysautonomia may be contributing to them.

I connect the dots.

If you’re wondering whether dysautonomia could be part of your symptoms, comment “CHECKLIST” & I’ll send you my Dysautonomia Checklist.

I hear & see this all the time. Scary, right?

Many people are treated based on the diagnosis they have, not the symptoms they’re actually experiencing.

Sensory overload, dizziness, vision problems, blood pressure changes, concussion history, dysautonomia, & other chronic conditions can easily be missed when nobody is looking for them.

Sometimes the missing diagnosis isn’t the problem. The missing assessment is.

And if you’re ready to stop guessing and get to the root of what’s actually going on, send me a message, homie. I’d love to chat about working together.

Which one surprised you? 🤔

I have a huge fear of falling on my face because I actually did as a kid while doing flips 💀(sensory seeking 😅). Ended up opening the top of my mouth & messed up my teeth.

So inversions are hard for me, but I’m trying to practice detachment, breathe through the discomfort, & stop letting fear control me.

The wall feels safe… freestyling it on the mat is another beast 😅

I was honestly embarrassed to do this on IG Live, but I want people to see that growth takes practice, frustration, & trying again.

I didn’t hold the pose long, but I’ll keep at it. Progress isn’t perfect. You just keep coming back to it 🫶🏽

What’s something you want to do but are afraid to try?

Insurance doesn’t always allow me to treat people the way I believe they deserve to be treated 🤬… so I decided to do therapy differently.

There’s so much research on the benefits of movement, exercise, yoga, community, nature, & education for both mental & physical health, but healthcare often keeps healing inside cold rooms & rushed appointments.

I want you to build confidence in your body again. 🫶🏽

To move better in real life.
To understand your symptoms.
To advocate for yourself.
To manage flare-ups before they take over.

That’s why my approach goes beyond traditional physical therapy.

Your nervous system learns through real life, not just clinic walls. 🌿

ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) is a complex, multi-system condition that affects how the body regulates & sustains energy. Cause is not fully known, but ~60-70% of cases begin after an infection such as COVID-19.

This isn’t typical fatigue, nor laziness.

Researchers believe ME/CFS may involve mitochondrial dysfunction, autonomic nervous system dysfunction, immune dysregulation, & impaired metabolism.

As a neurologic PT, I’m passionate about helping patients learn how to work WITH their nervous system through pacing, symptom stabilization, autonomic regulation, & individualized strategies.

✨ If you’re wondering whether your symptoms align with ME/CFS, comment “ME” & I’ll send you my symptom checklist + educational handout.
