Look closely at an iris, and you’ll notice it isn’t just one solid color. There are small variations, patterns, contrasts, shadows, and details that make every iris unique. Creating a custom ocular prosthesis means paying attention to all of these details, along with the shape, color, size & natural appearance of your eye. It’s a process that combines technical precision with an artistic touch; no two prostheses are the same.

Custom prosthetic eyes are crafted with care, comfort, and precision by our team of professionals. Schedule a consultation today.

Not everyone who visits an ocularist needs a normal-sized prosthetic eye. For some people, a scleral shell may be an option. A scleral shell is a thin prosthetic device that fits over an existing eye that may be disfigured, shrunken, and/or discolored. It is carefully designed for each individual, with attention given to both comfort and appearance.

Every situation is different, so the first step is an evaluation. If you're wondering whether a scleral shell might be right for you, contact us to schedule a consultation.

Never been to an ocularist before? It’s normal to have questions about what to expect.

Your visit is a chance to talk about how your prosthesis has been feeling, have the fit and movement checked; and address any concerns you’ve noticed. Your ocularist can also determine whether any adjustments or polishing may be needed.

Whether it’s your first appointment or a routine visit, the goal is simple: making sure your prosthesis continues to feel comfortable and look natural.

September is Healthy Aging Month, and taking care of your ocular prosthesis is part of taking care of yourself.

As we age, changes happen that affect how a prosthesis fits and feels. Regular visits with your ocularist are a good way to make sure everything still feels comfortable and looks the way it should.

If it’s been a while since your last visit, this is a great time to check in. Contact Eye Concern to schedule an appointment.

Returning to school can bring excitement, new experiences, and sometimes anxiety for children with an ocular prosthesis.

Parents can help by encouraging open communication, answering questions honestly, and reminding children that their prosthesis is only a minor part of who they are. Confidence grows when children feel supported at home, at school, and within their community.

At Eye Concern, we're honored to be part of that support system for families.
