Deep Sea Valkyries As modern day Valkyries, we facilitate clinical trauma counseling / scuba retreats for our Heroes

Derived from Norse mythology, Valkyries were critical in Viking battles and historically honored as those who brought the chosen to the afterlife hall of Valhalla; journeys which were taxing on the mind, body, and soul. Today we are honored to support those Veterans, our Valkyries, who are in need of a voyage to heal that which is in need of attention. Whether it be the mind – a shoulder to lean on and a person to vent frustrations; the body – diving and a feeling of weightlessness to foster healing; or the soul – offering spiritual counseling for those needing religious assistance; Deep Sea Valkyries is committed to providing a complete experience for our Veterans and their needs. To donate and commit to assisting our Valkyries, please visit our website or contact our Business Operations Manager, Neysa Grzywa, at [email protected]

Huge thanks to ABC15 Arizona and to Cameron for their "Uplifting Arizona" feature on our program. For more than a decade, Deep Sea Valkyries has been facilitating week long, intensive counseling retreats focused on trauma and moral injury incorporating diving as an outlet. While initially started for Veterans, we expanded to supporting First Responders that serve our local community several years ago.

Thank you to Nik for joining us in 2025 and sharing part of your experience during this piece. To our all volunteer staff, our supporters, and to the men and women we serve, THANK YOU - this is a passion project for all of us and see the 'one degree of change' that takes you all miles from where you started with us is incredible. For those interested in our retreats or joining us, applications open on November 11th and you can learn more at www.deepseavalkyries.com. Please visit the links below for our upcoming fundraiser:
