The LEAP study genuinely changed everything. It showed that introducing peanut protein early and regularly in the first year of life could prevent the majority of peanut allergies, and that finding is what led to the NIH updating their guidelines in 2017.

The window for early allergen introduction closes around 12 months, so timing really does matter. If you’re feeling nervous about doing it at home, ask your pediatrician or allergist about an in-office introduction.
