πŸŽ“πŸŒŸ **PT GRADUATION SPOTLIGHT: ROY!** πŸŒŸπŸŽ“

When Mr. Roy first started with us, he was dealing with neck and shoulder pain, limited mobility, and symptoms that were affecting everyday activities.

Over the course of his time at Movement Specialists, Mr. Roy put in the work and made some incredible progress.

βœ… Pain improved to just 3/10 at its worst
βœ… Radicular symptoms centralized
βœ… Upper-extremity strength goals were met

After all that hard work, Mr. Roy is ready to take what he learned in PT and continue his progress independently. πŸ’ͺ

**Congratulations on your PT graduation, Mr. Roy!** πŸŽ“ We are so proud of the work you put in and the progress you made!

Keep moving, keep getting stronger, and keep doing the things that matter most. ❀️

Between decorating, carrying pumpkins, chasing little ones around, and staying active during the fall season, it’s easy to overlook simple ways to protect your body.

A few ways to help prevent common aches and injuries:

βœ”οΈ Warm up before physical activity
βœ”οΈ Use proper lifting techniques when moving decorations
βœ”οΈ Take breaks from repetitive activities
βœ”οΈ Wear supportive footwear
βœ”οΈ Listen to your body when something doesn’t feel right

Don’t let an avoidable injury put a scare into your fall. If pain or discomfort is affecting the way you move, physical therapy can help.

πŸŽ“πŸŒŸ **PT GRADUATION SPOTLIGHT: CHRIS!** πŸŒŸπŸŽ“

After months of hard work, Chris officially graduated from physical therapy! πŸ’ͺ

When Ms. Chris first came to Movement Specialists, she was dealing with significant low back pain that made everyday activities like standing, walking, and moving comfortably a challenge.

Through consistency, strength training, mobility work, and a whole lot of determination, Chris made meaningful progress in her mobility, strength, and tolerance for activity.

Now, she is continuing her progress independently with her home exercise program and the tools she learned throughout her time with us. πŸ™Œ

Chris, we are so proud of the work you put in and the progress you made! Congratulations on your PT graduation! πŸŽ“πŸ’™

Keep moving, keep getting stronger, and keep doing the things that matter most to you!

Balance is something we rely on every dayβ€”from walking across the room to navigating stairs, getting in and out of a car, or enjoying your favorite activities.

Physical therapy can help improve:

βœ” Balance and coordination
βœ” Leg and core strength
βœ” Walking mechanics
βœ” Mobility and flexibility
βœ” Confidence with movement

You don't have to wait until you've had a fall to start working on your balance. Building strength and stability can help you stay active and independent as you age.

When something feels tight or uncomfortable, stretching often seems like the obvious solutionβ€”but tightness isn't always caused by a lack of flexibility.

Depending on what's contributing to your symptoms, you may benefit from:

βœ” Improving flexibility
βœ” Building strength
βœ” Improving joint mobility
βœ” Addressing movement patterns
βœ” Combining mobility and strengthening exercises

The right exercise isn't necessarily the one that feels the best in the moment. It's the one that addresses what's actually contributing to your limitations.

Different jobs place different demands on your body. Long hours sitting, repetitive movements, heavy lifting, or standing all day can contribute to aches and injuries.

Help protect your body at work by:

βœ” Using proper lifting techniques
βœ” Adjusting your workstation
βœ” Taking regular movement breaks
βœ” Using proper body mechanics
βœ” Paying attention to persistent pain

Whether your job is physically demanding or keeps you behind a desk, small changes can make a big difference.

From working at a desk to looking down at your phone, the positions you spend time in throughout the day can influence how your neck, shoulders, and back feel.

Try these simple habits:

βœ” Keep your screen at a comfortable height
βœ” Change positions throughout the day
βœ” Take movement breaks
βœ” Avoid staying in one position for too long
βœ” Strengthen the muscles that support good movement

Good posture isn't about sitting perfectly all dayβ€”it's about moving regularly and giving your body the support it needs.

Hip pain doesn't always begin with a major injury. Sometimes, small changes can be the first signs that something isn't moving the way it should.

Pay attention if you're experiencing:

βœ” Pain when walking or standing
βœ” Difficulty getting up from a chair
βœ” Stiffness after sitting
βœ” Pain when climbing stairs
βœ” Discomfort during exercise or daily activities

Addressing hip pain early may help prevent it from interfering with more of the activities you enjoy.
