Since it’s Skin Cancer Awareness Month, we felt this was worth reposting ☀️
There’s a lot of misinformation circulating right now about sunscreen… and it matters.
No, beef tallow and coconut oil are not sunscreen. These are not studied or proven to protect your skin from UV damage.
What is proven:
Sunscreens available in the U.S. have been FDA approved for decades with no evidence showing they cause cancer or harm.
What we do know, without question:
UV exposure does cause skin cancer.
From a board-certified dermatologist with decades of training and experience:
Wear sunscreen on your face every single day.
And when you’re in the sun for extended periods… reapply and cover up.
Protecting your skin isn’t a trend. It’s medicine.
