🎉 Happy Birthday to the one and only Dr. Patrick Waring! 🎂

Today, all of us at the Pain Intervention Center are celebrating not only an incredible physician, but the person who built the team and practice we’re so proud to be a part of.

We see firsthand the passion and determination Dr. Waring brings to his patients every day. We also see the side others may not always see — the long hours, constant ideas, drive to keep learning and improving, high expectations, and genuine commitment to his patients, his practice, and his team.

His impact also reaches far beyond PIC. Through research, publications, education, and collaboration with colleagues, he continues to help advance the field of interventional pain medicine.

We’re incredibly proud of all he has accomplished, but even more grateful for the person behind those accomplishments. Thank you for challenging us, teaching us, believing in us, and creating a place where we truly feel like a team.

Advancing Patient Safety Through Education & Preparedness

We are proud to share that Dr. Patrick Waring has co-authored three sections of the newly published International Pain and Spine Intervention Society (IPSIS) Emergency Protocols featured in the special issue of Interventional Pain Medicine (IPM).

Dr. Waring contributed to:

• Intra-arterial Injection
• Intradural or Intrathecal Local Anesthetic Injection
• Oversedation

These updated protocols provide evidence-informed guidance to help clinicians recognize, prevent, and respond to potential emergencies during interventional pain procedures—reinforcing the importance of preparation, safety, and the highest standards of patient care.

Congratulations to Dr. Waring and all contributing authors for their dedication to advancing the field of interventional pain medicine and improving safety for patients everywhere.
