Honored the Coleman Dermatology will be one of the first practices in the country to be part of prevue program for Daxxify.
FDA approved in September, Daxxify is a new Botox alternative that in clinical trials lasted for 6 months, although some patients saw results for up to 8 months. We are thrilled to be able to offer this to our patients as we know you’ve been waiting for it. We are accepting appointments starting Dec. 6th for Daxxify injections. Imagine being able to go for longer stretches of time without wrinkles returning. We can imagine it and we can’t wait.

Sofwave is on its way to Coleman Dermatology. A non-invasive way to tighten and lift the skin addressing so many of our patients concerns.

Starting in our mid-20s, collagen and elastin begin to break down, causing our skin to wrinkle and lose its elasticity. Sofwave™ is a clinically proven, non-invasive approach to remodeling collagen, which improves facial lines and wrinkles and a lifting effect to the eyebrows, neck, and submental region.

Using proprietary Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam SUPERB™ technology, ultrasound energy precisely passes through the skin’s surface (the epidermis), heating the mid-dermal tissue at just the precise depth and temperature to rejuvenate collagen fibers and improve the overall appearance of the skin.
Who is a great candidate? Anyone looking to lift and tighten the skin. Full results at 3 months. Does it hurt? Beauty is never painless but Dr. Coleman’s wife and friend both participated in a demo (their one month results are slides 3 and 4) and found the procedure to be fine with numbing cream although higher settings patients may request supplementation to topical numbing. No real redness post treatment and no downtime.
How long do results last? Patient dependent but we feel confident 12-18 months at the minimum. Cost will vary on number of locations treated. Call our office to be first on the list for when it arrives.

Let’s talk Redensity. One of the chief cosmetic complaints of many of our patients are the horizontal neck lines. While genetic, many patients have had them since their teen years although severity varies by patient, they all share the same dislike of the neck bands. Until now we’ve not had a fantastic solution to treating horizontal neck lines. Enter Redensity. An FDA approved HA filler for fine lines. It’s thin consistency makes it ideal for under eyes, lines around the mouth and those annoying horizontal neck lines. Its ability to fix lines without the patient appearing “filled” is important as we want our patients to look as natural as possible. If scheduling for Redensity on the neck, keep in mind bruising is possible so check your calendar for events in the few days after treatment. This patient didn’t bruise at all and was thrilled with her results. We were too and continue to be. All HA fillers build collagen over time so that will be an additional step in the right direction for patients who receive it. Results last for months up to a year although it’s important to keep in mind each patient metabolizes filler differently. Want in? Call our office to schedule.

Jawline contouring. So many patients coming into our practice are vying for a really defined jawline. With masks off now out patients are looking to make the most out of their features that they no longer need to cover. One of our beautiful patients came by today for a little contouring of her jaw. With a stronger jawline being a top request in our practice Dr. Coleman works with only the best hyaluronic acid fillers so patients achieve the best results. In this patients case 1.5 syringes of Voluma was used along her jawline and her chin. As you age, your chin starts to recess back, therefore weakening your profile. It’s an easy fix with lasting results. We are thrilled with her outcome. Results will usually last for over a year however each patient metabolizes filler differently. Zero downtime, some minimal swelling and injection site bruising is possible. How do you know if you’re a candidate? Anyone who is dissatisfied with their lower face/jawline due to laxity or genetics may be a candidate for jawline contouring. Dr. Coleman is happy to discuss at your next appointment.

Checking in with our patient who is 30 days out from doing a full face fractional ablative C02 laser procedure. We are absolutely thrilled with her results. Patient did just her eyes a year ago and decided she wanted the full benefit of a full face treatment, including a second treatment on her eyes which Dr. Coleman advised might be needed after her first treatment.

What this procedure does: corrects fine lines, wrinkles, eradicates sun damage, improves elasticity, builds collagen which helps tighten skin. Downtime for this particular patient was about 5 days with no makeup. Average patient is 5-7 days. Results continue to improve for a year. Long term results are dependent upon SPF use, Retin A use and Botox upkeep.

Is there a procedure that can mimic these results without the downtime? No. In order to have this kind of benefit, this procedure is necessary. While we endorse other lasers, peels and retinoids this kind of resurfacing can only be achieved with an ablative laser. Patient can resume Vitamin C use in 2-4 days and Retin A use after 6 weeks. We strongly recommend scheduling this procedure in concert with your Botox appointment as we want your face to heal while the muscles are unable to recreate the same lines and wrinkles that the laser removes. Once healed, it’s like starting over with your skin so treating it as such is very important so we do not recommend doing this in the summer if your plans are to spend your holiday at the beach. We’re going to call this the derm Mommy makeover. Our patient who now has a beautiful 8 month old had to forgo her usual routine due to pregnancy and breastfeeding.

There are so many “no’s” while pregnant and/or breastfeeding: botox, fillers, TCA peels, Retin A hydroquinone, some microneedling, most topical acne creams, salicylic acid, etc etc etc. Finally ready to get back into her routine she underwent a microneedling treatment to start her process and once that healed Dr. Coleman treated her face with Botox, lip and cheek filler and a two part face and neck peel.

Wrinkles, fine lines and sun damage were immediate reduced. Her tone and texture vastly improved. She can resume daily Retin A use which is the single best thing you can do for your skin on a daily basis. We are thrilled with her results and Dr. Coleman has advised her on a treatment plan should she want to see more aggressive and long term results. Talk about eye opening results! Introducing Upneeq to Coleman Dermatology. Upneeq is a daily eyedrop for patients with eyelid ptosis -or sagging eyelids. As a cosmetic product, it also works to give the appearance of a brighter, wider, more open eye. Patients liken it to a lift and a much more youthful appearance. Pretty pouts don’t always happen overnight. This patient wanted to enhance her upper lip and add a little volume to her bottom. Going from the left picture to the right can take some patience and time to expand the lips when they are on the thinner side. The end result is a beautiful lip shape that compliments the rest of her face and gives our patient the volume she was looking for without looking “done.” Bruising is common so we advise our patients to abstain for drinking the night before and from aspirin and ibuprofen in the few days leading up to your appointment.
