Save this and share it with anyone who orders their vitamins on Amazon.

Here's what I couldn't fit into the reel. There's a reason supplement fraud on Amazon is worse than fraud on other categories. Supplements are a RECURRING purchase. People find one they like and reorder it every month for years. Fraudsters know that. Which means they're more incentivized to counterfeit supplements than they are to counterfeit a one-time item like my old headbands. It's not the brands fault, we have zero control! We need Amazon to increase security to protect us!

Every time you set up a monthly Amazon reorder for your favorite supplement, you're creating a target.

Even trusted brands have publicly warned their customers that their products on Amazon are being counterfeited. Some officially state they cannot guarantee the authenticity of anything sold on Amazon that they didn't ship themselves.

Buy directly from your practitioner or the brand's website. Set up your subscription there. Every single time.

If you find a brand's product on Amazon at a significantly cheaper price than the brand's own website, that's a red flag, not a deal.

And I've done it before too but I learned and adapted to make sure I'm getting my correct supplements!

Ever wonder what those little fruit stickers actually mean?

Those numbers aren’t random. They’re trying to tell you exactly how that fruit was grown. Here’s the breakdown and an easy way to remember:

The “4-5-9 Rule” 🍌🍎🍊
🟡 4-digit code (starts with 3 or 4)
• Conventionally grown (often sprayed with synthetic pesticides)
• 🔁 Easy way to remember: “4 = Farm, but with Funky stuff”

🟢 5-digit code starting with 9
• Organic — no GMOs or synthetic pesticides
• 💚 Remember: “9 is Fine”

🔴 5-digit code starting with 8
• Genetically modified (GMO) — though you’ll rarely see it
• 🚫 Think: “8 = Hate it” (if you care about clean eating)

⚪️ Code starting with 6
• Not part of the official system
• Usually a store or supplier’s internal code
• ⚠️ Think: “6 = Sketchy” (when in doubt, skip it unless it’s labeled organic)

🎯 Bottom line: That tiny sticker? It’s doing more than ringing up your fruit

Tag someone who needs this little produce hack, hit save so you don’t forget the next time you’re at the store, and share if you found it helpful! 🛒🍇

Same calories. Completely different story.

530 calories from a homemade crunchwrap vs. Taco Bell's Crunchwrap Supreme, their best-seller with 100M+ sold last year.

Made with: grilled whole wheat tortilla, baked corn tostada shell, grass-fed beef, real cheddar, cultured sour cream, lettuce, and tomato.

Almost double the protein, more fiber, zero added sugar, and a fourth of the sodium, plus 19% more food for the same calories.

One honest note: the homemade version has slightly more saturated fat, since it uses real cheese and sour cream. Taco Bell's "reduced-fat" versions get their lower number from modified starches and stabilizers, not cleaner ingredients, so lower isn't automatically healthier. And hays another whole story!

This also doesn't cover their other additives: modified corn starch, maltodextrin, cellulose, and calcium propionate. Just the nutrition facts. It goes deeper than this.

Same calories. Completely different effect on your body.

1,100 calories from a homemade breaded chicken sandwich, sweet potato wedges, and lemonade vs. 1,100 calories from a Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich Meal. Same bun, chicken, and pickle format on both sides, just made with different ingredients.

The homemade version has almost 3x the fiber, 88% more protein, 38% less sodium, and a fraction of the added sugar. It's also 68% more actual food for the same calorie cost.

And this isn't even covering the chemicals, preservatives, and MSG in their food, things like calcium propionate, DATEM, and a soybean/palm oil blend. This is just the nutrition facts. It goes so much deeper than this.

As a Functional Nutrition Specialist, I do the work so you don't have to. Drop your requests below and I'm happy to research the next comparison.
