Warmer weather can have a positive impact on mental health in many ways!

For example, increased sunlight and vitamin D, more opportunities for movement,
fresh air, and social connection.

At Valley Mental Health, we encourage everyone to take small moments this summer to
care for both their physical and emotional well-being.

A few simple ways to support your mental health this season:

☀️ Take a short walk outside
☀️ Spend time in natural sunlight
☀️ Stay hydrated and maintain a routine
☀️ Unplug from screens when possible
☀️ Connect with friends, family, or your community
☀️ Give yourself permission to slow down and recharge

While summer can improve mood for many people, it’s important to remember that mental health challenges can still occur during any season and support is always
available.

Therapy & Prescribers ...which is best for you?

Mental health care is not one-size-fits-all and different types of providers play different roles in supporting wellness.

At Valley Mental Health, our psychiatric nurse practitioners (NPs) focus on evaluating symptoms, diagnosing mental health conditions, managing medications, and monitoring
treatment progress.

Therapists, on the other hand, typically focus on talk therapy, coping strategies,
emotional processing, and ongoing behavioral support.

Both services are valuable and for many people, they work best together.

Understanding the difference can help patients feel more comfortable taking the first step toward care.

→Therapy helps patients process emotions, behaviors, and life experiences
→ Psychiatric providers help evaluate symptoms and manage medications when appropriate

Mental health treatment should be personalized, collaborative, and supportive.

Mental health is just as important as physical health.

Taking care of your emotional well-being can improve sleep, relationships, stress levels,
concentration, and overall quality of life.

At Valley Mental Health, we believe seeking support is a sign of strength, not
weakness.

Whether you're managing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, or life
stressors, compassionate care and support can make a meaningful difference.

You do not have to navigate mental health challenges alone.

Consistency Counts!

Consistency is one of the most important factors in mental health care.

When patients have regular access to medication management and follow-up, they’re more likely to:

✨ Stay stable
✨ Remain engaged in treatment
✨ Avoid crisis situations

At Valley Mental Health, we focus on providing reliable, ongoing care that supports patients over time, not just in moments of need.

We’re proud to work alongside providers and community partners to help improve outcomes across the populations we serve.

Starting mental health care can feel overwhelming.

Where do you go?
Who do you talk to?
What does treatment actually look like?

At Valley Mental Health, we aim to make that first step easier, providing a supportive, straightforward path to care.

Through medication management and ongoing support, we help patients stay consistent, feel more in control, and move forward with confidence.

Taking the first step is never easy, but it matters.

The transition from hospital to home is one of the most critical points in a patient’s care journey.

Through the partnership between Valley Mental Health and Comfort Home Care, we’re able to support patients beyond discharge with:

✨ Outpatient psychiatric care and medication management
✨ In-home nursing support for behavioral health and medical needs

Together, we help patients stay engaged in care, manage complex conditions, and avoid unnecessary hospital returns.

If your patients need support across both outpatient and home settings, we’re here to help.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month!

At Valley Mental Health, we believe that access to mental health care should be simple, supportive, and stigma-free.

Every day, we work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges, helping them find the right treatment, stay consistent with care, and move forward with confidence.

Mental health is just as important as physical health, and no one should have to navigate it alone.

If you or someone you know is looking for support, we’re here.

Breathe. Pause. Take a moment.

You Deserve It!

Taking care of your mental health doesn’t always mean making big changes.

Sometimes it means small steps:
• Asking for help
• Talking to someone you trust
• Scheduling an appointment with a provider
• Giving yourself permission to slow down

At Valley Mental Health, we’re here to support individuals at every stage of their mental
health journey.

No Stigma. Just Support.

There can still be stigma around mental health medications, but for many people,
medication is simply one tool that can help support stability and well-being.

Just like medication can help manage blood pressure or diabetes, psychiatric
medications can help regulate symptoms of conditions like anxiety, depression, or mood disorders.

At Valley Mental Health, our providers work closely with patients to determine whether
medication may be helpful as part of a broader treatment plan that can also include
therapy and other supports.

Mental health care is not one-size-fits-all. It’s about finding what works best for each
individual.

In-Person or Telehealth Care should fit your life!

We know that everyone’s schedule, comfort level, and needs are different.

That’s why Valley Mental Health offers both in-person visits and telehealth
appointments, so patients can choose the option that works best for them.

Accessing care shouldn’t be another barrier; it should be part of the solution.
