Over the past several weeks, I have had the privilege of receiving two very kind and encouraging communications from the World Taekwondo Chang Moo Kwan Headquarters in Korea.

As someone who has devoted nearly five decades to the study, teaching, and preservation of the martial arts, I deeply appreciate the courtesy, professionalism, and genuine warmth that has been extended to me by Headquarters and Master Daehyun Kim, Manager of International Affairs.

What has impressed me most is the spirit of mutual respect shown toward the preservation of Taekwondo history and heritage. Regardless of organization, politics, or affiliation, we all share a common responsibility to honor those who came before us and to pass the art on to future generations with integrity.

I am grateful for their support, their friendship, and their willingness to cooperate in the continued promotion of traditional Taekwondo values.

My sincere thanks to the World Taekwondo Chang Moo Kwan Headquarters for their kindness and encouragement. It is both humbling and appreciated.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Black Dragon Society for the invitation to attend and participate in The Gathering 2026.

Unfortunately, due to an unexpected medical issue, I was forced to leave the event earlier than planned. I am deeply disappointed that I was unable to remain for the entire weekend and present the material I had prepared.

Even so, I am grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with old friends, meet fellow martial artists, and experience the camaraderie and spirit that make The Gathering such a special event.

Thank you to everyone involved in organizing and supporting this year's event. I wish everyone a successful remainder of the weekend and look forward to future opportunities to train, learn, and share with the martial arts community.
