Happy National Dog Day! Dogs might just be some of the best movement motivators around. When they’re ready for a walk, they’re READY.

So today, grab the leash and get outside together! Take your usual route, explore somewhere new, or add a few extra minutes to your walk. It’s a simple way to get your body moving while spending a little extra time with your favorite four-legged friend.

Now we want to see your walking buddy! Share a photo of your pup in the comments and tell us their name.

Sometimes where you feel pain isn't necessarily where the problem is coming from. Shoulder discomfort can sometimes be related to the neck. Leg symptoms may be connected to the lower back. That's why a physical therapy evaluation looks beyond just the spot that hurts.

Instead of only asking, “Where does it hurt?” we also look at how your body moves and how your symptoms respond to different movements. Finding the right direction for treatment starts with understanding the bigger picture.

Have you ever had pain somewhere and been surprised to learn what was actually causing it?

Sunday Check-In.
As the weekend comes to a close, take a moment to think about your body.

What's one thing you did this weekend that helped you feel better?

Maybe it was:

Strength and balance are things we can continue working on at any age. And the good news? You don't always need special equipment or a trip to the gym to work on them.

Simple movements you can do right at home can help challenge your legs, improve stability, and build confidence with everyday activities.

We've shared three easy ideas in today's graphic that you can add to your routine. Start where you feel comfortable and build from there.

And remember, everyone's needs and abilities are different. If balance has become more difficult, you've had a recent fall, or you're feeling less steady than you used to, physical therapy can help determine why and create a plan that's right for you.

At CANI, treatment is one on one. That gives our therapists time to listen, understand how you're responding, answer questions, and adjust your treatment based on what your body is telling us.

Terilynn had experienced physical therapy elsewhere before, but it was the individualized care and communication at CANI that brought her back.

We appreciate you sharing your experience, Terilynn, and trusting our team with your care!

Did you know CANI treats kids, too? When your child is dealing with spine or joint pain, it can be scary. You want answers, and you want to know what you can do to help them feel better.

At CANI, we see both adults and children, and kids often respond quickly to the right treatment. And when you're waiting weeks or even months to get into an orthopedic specialist, physical therapy may be a place to start sooner.

Whether pain is keeping them from playing their sport, being active with friends, or simply feeling like themselves, let us help.

No two patients are exactly the same, so why should their physical therapy be?

At CANI, we take the time to understand what’s bothering you, how it’s affecting your everyday life, and what you want to get back to doing.

From there, your treatment is built around you, your body, your goals, and how you respond along the way.

Because physical therapy isn’t about following the same plan for everyone. It’s about finding what works for you.

Have questions about whether physical therapy could help you? Give CANI a call!

💙 Add a Little Flexibility to Your Weekend

When we think about staying active, we often think about walking, working out, or building strength. But when was the last time you gave your flexibility a little attention?

This weekend could be a great time to try something different!

🧘 Try a beginner yoga class or video.
🏊 Spend some time moving in the pool.
🌿 Take a slow nature walk and give your body time to loosen up.
🧎 Spend a few minutes gently stretching while you watch TV.
☀️ Take your morning coffee outside and add a few easy movements to your routine.

You don't need to be able to touch your toes or twist yourself into a pretzel. Flexibility is about helping your body move comfortably through the activities you do every day.

What's something you do that helps you stay flexible and moving?
