Congratulations to our recent Sunflower Award recipient, Marie Elvariste, for the extraordinary compassion, kindness, and support she provided to a patient with ALS and their family during multiple ICU stays.

Her ability to anticipate the patient's needs, offer reassurance during difficult moments, and provide comfort to both the patient and loved ones made a lasting impact. The family shared that Marie's presence would instantly brighten the patient's day and that her warmth, attentiveness, and advocacy made them feel cared for like family.

Mount Sinai Key West and the Greater Key West Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house to welcome the family medicine practice of Dr. Brian G. Wagstaff to the Mount Sinai family, this past Monday.

Located at 1501 Government Road, the practice remains in the same trusted location that residents have relied on for more than a decade, now supported by the diagnostic, specialty, and resources of the largest independent, private, not-for-profit teaching hospital in Florida.

The event featured remarks from Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Development Officer Alex Mendez, Greater Key West Chamber of Commerce President Amber Shaffer, and Key West Mayor Sam Kaufman. Also in attendance were community leaders, patients, and Mount Sinai team members.
