🌍 World Hepatitis Day | Día Mundial contra la Hepatitis

More than 287 million people globally live with chronic hepatitis B or C. In South Florida, the burden is disproportionately high among Haitian-American, Caribbean, and immigrant communities.

🧬 What is being developed?

For hepatitis B, researchers are evaluating gene-silencing medicines, immune-based treatments, new antivirals, and combination therapies designed to achieve a functional cure. Hepatitis C can already be cured in most people with direct-acting antivirals, while research continues to make treatment shorter, simpler, and accessible to more patients.

Clinical trial participation may include medical screenings, blood tests, study visits, monitoring, and investigational treatment at no cost.

People diagnosed with hepatitis B or C may qualify. Contact Indago Research & Health Center to learn about available studies.

A forgotten appointment. A familiar name that suddenly feels out of reach. A hand that begins to tremble. For many families, neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis gradually change everyday life and caregivers often carry much of that responsibility.

What many families may not realize is that neurological clinical research can be available within their own community.

At Indago Research & Health Center, we conduct CNS clinical trials designed to evaluate potential new options for people living with neurological conditions. Our local research team supports participants and their families throughout every step of the process.

On this World Brain Day, we want South Florida families to know that access to neurological research may be closer than they think.

Florida sunshine is beautiful, but our state’s melanoma rate is higher than the national average☀️

A few simple habits can help protect your skin:

☂️ Use an umbrella or find shade during the strongest midday sun.

🧴 Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen and reapply throughout the day.

👒 Wear a hat, sunglasses, and lightweight clothing that covers your skin.

Small steps can make a big difference, whether you’re heading to the beach, walking the dog, or just running errands.

If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with a skin condition, clinical trials may offer additional options. Connect with Indago to learn about current dermatology research opportunities.

Did you know that an estimated 300,000 children and teens in the United States live with diagnosed arthritis?

Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month is a reminder that arthritis is not only an adult condition. For many families, it can mean pain, stiffness, fatigue, and daily challenges that affect school, play, and quality of life.

The good news: research is happening. Clinical trials help explore new ways to understand juvenile arthritis, improve care, and expand future treatment options. They may also give families access to study-related care, education, and closer health monitoring.

At Indago Research & Health Center, we believe families should know that they are not alone, and that participation in research can help move science forward for children today and in the future.

Research is happening. Families can be part of it.

This July, we recognize National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month — a reminder that mental health support should be accessible, compassionate, and culturally responsive.

Minority communities continue to face barriers such as stigma, lack of access, and limited trusted resources. Awareness is only the first step. Real impact begins when we listen, educate, and support one another.

At Indago, we believe every community deserves to feel seen, heard, and cared for.
