Camp Erin South Florida

Camp Erin South Florida Catholic Hospice also cares for the whole person with special programs like Pet Peace of Mind and spiritual support for those of all faith traditions.

At Camp Erin, grieving children learn that they are not alone, that their feelings are normal. They have a safe environment to express themselves with other children going through a similar experience. Grief professionals and trained volunteers lead age appropriate groups through clinical grief activities such as remembrance ceremonies, sharing circles, art therapy, music, creative writing, drama and other physical activities.

πŸ“šπŸ’™ Supporting Children Through Grief and Beyond

Last weekend, Bereavement Camp Coordinator Edmound Davis represented Camp Erin South Florida at the South Florida Back-to-School Rally and Community Health Fair at Faith Tabernacle in Broward.

More than 80 community members attended the event, where Edmound shared valuable resources on childhood grief and Camp Erin.

We are grateful for opportunities like these to connect with families, raise awareness about grief support for children and teens, and remind our community that no one has to navigate loss alone. πŸ’›

Healing, remembrance, and connection πŸ’›

Last weekend, families came together for our Camp Erin Family Bereavement Campβ€”a day dedicated to supporting children and caregivers navigating grief.

This year, we supported 6 families, made possible by nearly 40 amazing volunteers who created a safe, compassionate space for support and healing.

From memory pillowcase creation to music therapy, pet therapy, and a caregiver workshop, every moment was designed to honor loved ones and encourage emotional resilience.

A heartfelt thanks to our volunteers, our Catholic Hospice team, Broward Humane Society, New York Life, and our partner Eluna for making this day so meaningful.

Together, we’re reminding families they are never alone 🀍

As we continue to honor this month as Mental Health Awareness Month, we are reminded that no one should have to carry grief or pain alone. One of the most meaningful parts of Camp Erin is the connection--the friendships, support, and sense of community that remind our youth campers and families that they are not alone in what they are experiencing.

We are also grateful for the support we receive from our local community, like Steve Fortunado and his amazing team who has create spaces where people feel supported, understood, and connected. The work they do to build community and prioritize mental health truly makes a difference. THANK YOU! πŸ’š
