The first weekend of Art of the Gong Training, Phase One, wrapped this past Sunday, and the studio still feels different because of it.

For some of these students, this training is years in the making. It began the way real growth usually does: unsure at first, steadier by the hour. They learned the weight of the mallet before they learned to trust it, the strike points, the pacing, the discipline of listening as closely as playing. But the real shift happened between the technique, in learning to hold space for a room and stay present while the gong moves through it.

By Sunday afternoon, something in the studio had changed. Slower movements, steadier breath, a quiet confidence that wasn't there Friday.

This is only month one of eight.

Want a taste of that energy? Join us for Planetary Sound Immersion, Thursday at 7:30pm, guided by πŸ†‚πŸ†ˆπŸ…»πŸ†…πŸ…ΈπŸ…΄ 🧿 πŸͺ

And if you've been watching this training from the outside, wondering when your way in might be, Phase Two is that next step. Explore it, link in bio.

Here's something most people don't know about sound healing: the gong doesn't do all the work. Your nervous system does, and it can only take in as much as your body lets it.

Try this right now, wherever you're sitting. Roll your shoulders back five times, slow. Exhale through your mouth like you're fogging up a mirror. Shake out your hands for ten seconds like you're flicking water off them. Then go still and notice what's different, looser through the chest, more room to breathe.

That's the whole principle behind why we pair movement with sound at NAMO. Tension blocks resonance. Move first, and the same gong hits you completely differently.

It's a small taste of what Nelson Leon goes deeper into in Phase Two of the Art of the Gong training, but you don't need the full training to feel it. You just did.

Come test the difference for yourself this week. Link in bio for the full class schedule.

This week's chart is a lot: Lilith shifting into Capricorn, Venus squaring Pluto, Chiron making its final pass through Aries. If you've felt extra charged lately, that's not a coincidence.

Sound goes where words can't. It moves through the nervous system before your mind gets a chance to argue with it, which makes the gong one of the most direct ways to work with a week like this: releasing what Pluto stirs up, softening the old wound Chiron keeps circling back to, and finding your voice without needing to raise it.

Curious where that power actually comes from? This Wednesday's September Talks, part of our Sound Beyond the Surface series, digs into the meaning and history of gong power itself, the same force we're leaning on all week.

So we're asking: where have you mistaken staying quiet for staying safe? Come sit in the sound with us this week and let the gongs help you find out.

Before you scroll, pause for a moment. Just 27 seconds to listen and feel.

Where did you feel this in your body? Chest, spine, somewhere you don't usually pay attention to?

What you heard was the gong in dandem with a thunder drum, a coiled spring rolling out something close to real thunder underneath the gong's sustained tone. Together they don't just make noise, they move. The low end rolls through the room the way real weather does, while the gong holds one steady thread above it, so your body has to track two things at once: one wide and rumbling, one steady and clear.

That's not just an interesting sound. That's information. Your body is already fluent in this language, it just doesn't often get the chance to listen without a script. This is you finding out something about your own sensitivity, one you carry with you long after the sound stops.

Tell us below: where did you feel it, and what did it feel like?

to opening the doors of our new Tea Room. The Tea & Song Circle brought everyone together for an evening of ritual, presence, and sound, and it was the perfect way to welcome this space into the world.

Thank you to everyone who came out and shared that night with us, and to Benny Oyama 🎡 Tara Benmeleh - 🍡πŸͺ„πŸͺ© 🍡 Noelia Madiedo 🎢 for guiding the circle with so much heart.

Most people think mobility means how far you can stretch. Touch your toes, drop into a split, call it progress.

That's flexibility. It's passive range, how far your body goes when something else does the work.

Mobility is different. It's active range, how far you can move under your own control, with articulation, with intention, on your own terms.

For a Gong Master, that distinction matters. It's the shoulder that can carry a mallet through hour three without bracing. It's the body that can hold a room's grief, its joy, its stillness, and stay present through all of it. Mobility, for a facilitator, isn't only physical range. It's the capacity to inhabit your body with enough awareness to move, adapt, and hold space for someone else's experience without losing your own center.

That's where the two truly meet. Whether it's a joint or a nervous system, mobility was never about pushing past a limit, it's about expanding what you can move through, on purpose, with control. Both are testing the same capacity: can you meet resistance and stay adaptable?

This is what Phase Two is built on, developing a stronger, more mobile, more adaptable body built to carry this work. Beginning October 2nd, here in Miami and online, guided by Nelson Leon, we go beyond the gong into the body that holds it.

Come build the range, the control, and the presence your practice is asking of you.

Is this the sign you've been waiting for?

If you've been sitting with Art of the Gong Training Phase One in the back of your mind, replaying it, wondering if it's for you, if you're ready, if it's the right time... this is us telling you: it is. And you are.

This is your final call. We begin this weekend.

Swipe to find your calling πŸ‘‰

For the one who's never touched a gong.
You don't need a musical background. You never did. You need willingness, curiosity, and a readiness to be shaped by something bigger than technique. That's the whole entry requirement.

For the one who's always been drawn to sound but never knew what to do with it.
This is the next step you've been circling. Eight months of training that turns that pull into practice, into skill, into something you can hold and offer others.

For the one who has sat in circle after circle, letting the gong work on you.
Now it's your turn to learn how it works. Every facilitator started exactly where you are, on the other side of the gong, being moved by it before they ever learned to move it.

This isn't a program limited to people who already have it figured out. It's for the ones who've been wavering. The ones who keep almost signing up. The ones who know, somewhere underneath the hesitation, that this is next.

We begin this weekend. If you've been thinking about it, this is us reaching back.

The cosmos sparks change this week, and it all moves through a single day. On September 10, Venus enters Scorpio, Mercury enters Libra, and Uranus turns retrograde, Together, these movements ask us to relate, review, and rebalance.

At the center of it all is a New Moon in Virgo. Sun and Moon align in the sign of discernment, clearing away what no longer fits so we can meet what does, a fresh start filtered through clarity, simplicity, and what is essential.

Join us this afternoon for Tea & Song Circle and the opening of our tea room. A wonderful mid-way through our Weekend Residency featuring Benny Oyama and Tara Benmeleh - 🍡πŸͺ„πŸͺ© 🍡

Tuesday, we gather for New Moon Sacred Womb Healing. Reserve your spot, link in bio.
