🧸 Clean-up time = leg-strengthening time! 💪👣
Has your little one recently started standing? Here’s an easy way to build leg strength during everyday play — no special equipment needed!
Place toys on the floor and encourage your child to squat down, pick them up, and stand back up to put them away.
That simple stand → squat → stand works on:
• Hip, thigh & glute strength
• Balance and postural control
• Weight shifting and coordination
• Skills needed for independent standing and walking 👣
PT tip: Offer a hand or stable surface for support if needed. As your child gets stronger, place toys lower to encourage a deeper squat.
The best part? They’re strengthening while playing and helping clean up. 🥰
✨ Everyday routines can become opportunities for motor development.
Every child develops differently. This post is for general education and does not replace individualized guidance from your child’s physical therapist.
