The Mitchell Wolfson Sr. Department of Community Service (DOCS) is the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s student-led community service program, working to improve access to care across South Florida through service, education, and empowerment.

From our health fairs and longitudinal clinics to patient navigation, research, and quality improvement, DOCS brings medical students, physicians, and community partners together to serve our neighbors while training the next generation of compassionate healthcare leaders.

DOCS supports student-run clinics across South Florida that provide longitudinal care to underserved and uninsured communities.

Through San Juan Bosco, the Center for Haitian Studies, Miami Rescue Mission, IDEA Exchange, and our specialty services, students work alongside physicians and community partners to provide compassionate, accessible care while gaining meaningful clinical experience.

Each year, DOCS hosts free health fairs throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and the Florida Keys, connecting community members with health screenings, education, resources, and physician-guided care.

From Fort Lauderdale to Liberty City, Little Haiti, South Dade, and beyond, every fair is made possible by our incredible student volunteers, physicians, community partners, and patients.

Join the Med-Peds Interest Group for a Q&A + Resident Panel featuring current Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residents!
Come learn what Med-Peds actually is, what training looks like, why residents chose the specialty, and what it’s like caring for both adult and pediatric patients. You’ll also have the chance to ask residents directly about residency, career paths, rotations, applications, and anything else you’ve been wondering about.
Whether you’re already interested in Med-Peds or just starting to explore specialties, this is a great opportunity to hear firsthand from residents and see if Med-Peds could be the right fit for you!

Our first health fair of the year is officially one for the books 🎊🎉

Thank you so much to everyone who helped make the Fort Lauderdale Health Fair such an incredible success! Together, we were able to serve over 180 patients and truly make a meaningful difference in the Fort Lauderdale community.

We are so grateful to all of our volunteers, physicians, community partners, and everyone who dedicated their time and energy to making this day possible. Your hard work made such an impact!

Introducing DOCS Grand Rounds!

DOCS Grand Rounds are monthly meetings where students and faculty can present DOCS and community health-related research, quality improvement initiatives, and trainings. These sessions are designed to foster collaboration, share best practices, and keep everyone connected to the broader impact of our clinic and community work.
