🫁I had a pleasure to work with Deborah, an amazing specialized SLP in spinal cord injury who flew in from ATL this week.
🥼She was able to train the home healthcare team, taking care of a very influential voice of our time who has suffered a spinal cord injury( think Christopher Reeves, tracheostomy can’t move body but no cognitive decline and can speak, diaphragm complications) in hopes we can get him back to producing his podcast.
🎤My role as a Voice Specialist and OWNER of an endoscopy system, was to perform a swallow study bedside, (completely normal swallow able to eat again) and get to work on his voice production.
✏️Lesson: we can’t be experts at EVERYTHING but we can collaborate and learn from each other to enhance the care of our patients. Whether we work bedside together or virtually meet up, we are stronger together we were brought together by who we know in our Slp circles thank you Med SLP Collective
