THIS IS WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT!!

one of our CA-2 residents rotating in the Miami VA SICU was lucky enough to get a visit today from a former patient. Hunter had the pleasure of providing care to him for a majority of his 2 month hospital stay! This patient and his partner shared a special moment with Hunter and the rest of the incredible SICU staff that was full of hugs, laughs, and dancing!🕺🏻💃🏼

We are glad to hear he has made strides in his recovery and now gets to wear his favorite jammies as he prepares for discharge. This much time in a hospital (especially an ICU) is enough to make anyone go mad, but like Young Thug says “Horses don’t stop, they keep goin’!” 🥳🐎

Started as interns asking where the flushes were. Now they’re running the show.

They gave us their time, their sanity, and parts of themselves they probably won’t get back. We gave them trauma, add-ons, and a family they didn’t expect.

We watched them grow into the people you want next to you when everything’s going wrong. We are so proud of you all. ❤️👩‍⚕️🩺
