This is fantastic ♥️

Whenever I am on a trip, I am the person that will always be 15 minutes early to any appointment/tour. Tour guides have told me numerous times “Wow, you’re always on time, Cory!” And I think I know why this is the case...⁣
⁣⁣
⁣As a disabled person, I am used to scheduling every aspect of my life. I schedule when I will wake up every day and take a shower, so that my caregivers know when to be here to get me up... I schedule when I’ll eat every day, so that my body is on a schedule and doesn’t get thrown off... I even schedule when to use the bathroom every day because if I suddenly need to go after my caregiver has left, it’s gonna be a whole fiasco for real. Living with a disability means scheduling EVERYTHING, so of course I am on time or early 100% of the time.⁣
⁣⁣
⁣To be honest, it’s kind of exhausting sometimes to need to schedule out every aspect of my life. At times, I wish I could just use the bathroom whenever I wanted without needing to do pee/poop math beforehand or even sleeping in some days would be nice, but scheduling is also kind of a bonus/advantage of disability, I guess. I will certainly never be late to anything! ⁣
⁣⁣
⁣When I think about it, disabled people really are resilient af. In the words of Wheelchair Rapunzel, “We manage our care teams, appointments, have to pre-plan our every day AND we find time to be badass humans making the world a better place.” 💯👏
