Singles are constantly frustrated at the thought of dating and are basically avoiding it all together. Especially single moms! So many moms feel that it’s just not the “right time” for them to date!

“How will my kids feel about me having a boyfriend?”
“Will anyone be attracted to me with now that I come with kids?”
“I’ve been out of the game for so long I don’t even know how to flirt.”

I spoke with .sue.elias at about the new release of Two Women. It portrays two suburban women who’ve lost touch with their s*xual selves. One is trying to find herself while breast feeding her newborn, and the other is navigating mental health challenges. Many couples start s*x therapy by saying, “but we love each other”. I hate to break it to you… love only starts it, it won’t sustain a relationship.

A fun, long-lasting relationship takes skill. Happy couples are not lucky, they learned the skills that are required to make a relationship last. It’s not just about choosing the “right” person, it’s about learning how to create, sustain, and grow a lasting relationship.

Below I have listed a few of the most essential skills couples must learn to make a relationship last:

❤️ Discuss emotional + physical intimacy: The way couples connect, emotionally and s*xually, changes as you move through different phases of life. Healthy couples have the trust and the words to talk about what they need, what feels good, and how connection evolves over time.

💋 Earn and learn your partner every day: It’s easy to get swallowed by the day-to-day logistics of running a life together. That’s often where emotional distance starts. Make it a daily practice to earn your partner’s love and respect. Stay curious about who they’re becoming. Talk about things beyond money and the to-do list.

❤️ Teamwork: Life is hard and it’s not always fair. You need a teammate, someone you can lean on and problem-solve with, so you’re facing challenges together.

💋 Stay autonomous: It’s easy to lose your identity along the way, especially if you’re the primary caregiver. Embrace your independence and sense of self. Autonomy isn’t the enemy of closeness, it actually builds secure attachment, confidence, and deeper trust.

For most women, arousal doesn’t just show up on command…they have to create the environment for it. Key factors in getting turned on are feeling confident, s*xy, and relaxed yet for so many women those feelings seem impossible to achieve with the stress and mental load of real life.

Last night, and I hosted a women’s evening in Miami dedicated to helping women feel more empowered in their pleasure and more emotionally connected in their relationships.

We talked about what helps desire build, how to ask for what you want, and how to bring more romance (and ease) back into partnership.

One of the most powerful parts: everyone responded to prompt anonymously. That anonymity gave women permission to be real, raw, honest, and surprisingly brave. And the conversation that followed? Deep. Bonding. And so validating.
