We are excited to announce that two more locations in the Pediatrica Health Group family of practices have been approved as Reach Out and Read sites. Pediatrica of Westchester and Miami Lakes have recently been onboarded to the program. Designed to help foster early literacy and encourage parents and kids to create daily reading routines, Reach Out and Read integrates books into pediatric visits. Providers use age-appropriate books as part of well-child visits to help monitor developmental milestones for kids from newborns to five-year-olds. Recognizing that many families do not have books at home, the one used during the check-up often goes home with families at the end of their visit.

As caregivers and kids read and spend time together, families form lasting connections and children learn new skills that serve them well throughout their lives. That kind of engagement matters because health outcomes are connected to much more than just clinical care. Together with guidance and resources from Reach Out and Read, we are encouraging early literacy and parental partnership in their child’s wellness journey. This is what Next Generation Careˢᵐ looks like.

Our hearts are melting! ♥️ This week, we received a special delivery at our Lakewood Ranch location from the 1st graders at William Monroe Rowlett Academy for Arts and Communication. As a school project, they were asked to acknowledge those who make an impact and help the community, and they selected our Lakewood Ranch team to share some love and appreciation. We couldn't be more grateful for the thoughtful delivery - thank you!
