Years ago, a patient of ours was told she'd need more bone built up before she could get an implant. She never went back for that step, and she figured the door had closed on ever replacing that tooth.
When she came to us for something else, we noticed the gap and brought it up, because restoring your bite is the right thing to do. She mentioned what she'd been told back then. So we started where we always start, with a 3D scan that shows the bone in detail. And there it was β she had the width and the depth for an implant after all. Bone can change over the years, and hers had.
She had the implant placed, and she's waiting on her final tooth now. What I keep thinking about is how long she carried a no that had stopped being true.
If someone told you years ago that you couldn't have an implant, that may have changed. Reach out to us and we'll take a look.
