Does mouth guards works? This is a question I’ve been asked dozens of times. mouth guards definitely work. They just don’t seem to work for what we want them to work for.
The beauty and purpose of mouth guards for people with TMJ disorder is to help our actual teeth. It’s not a tool to stops TMJ, but it helps the integrity of our teeth, and creates a protective barrier during flareups that takes some of the pressure off our jaw muscles.

So, tonight before you go to sleep, don’t skip the mouth guard! ☺️✨

Do you have jaw pain? Let’s fix it! ✨
In this video, I show you my technique called the big C. I show you how by moving down your master muscle, helps to release buildup of fascia, tension, or pain that may harbor within the TMJ area. You don’t have to force the area with a ton of pressure, as you start out, you can build upon pressure with in your comfort level, as you may already be dealing with a flareup and don’t want to contribute to the pain. You want to start by moving slow feeling out the area, and locating the area of your TMJ. Dropping your jaw slowly, you want to stop when you start feeling resistance. If there’s clicking, or if there’s movement in your jaw, you want to stop as soon as you start to feel any of that resistance.
With your mouth remaining open, you move in the big C formation down your cheeks, keeping contact with your face, until you get to the base of your jaw bone. Close your mouth, release your hands, and start the sequence again.
The big C has helped myself and so many of my clients get instant relief when there is a TMJ flareup. Remember to move slow and easy, and progress with pressure as needed overtime. ✨

Due to an influx of intra-oral clients over the past few months, I’ve decided to create a series to help more people better understand what TMJ is, how it’s created, and some of the things we can do to help ourselves to manage TMJ disorder.
i’m super excited to share some of the things that have helped my clients clients and myself (I have it too!) over the past 11 years of working in pain management doing intra-oral.
✨Stay tuned for the next video where I show you a technique that will help you release some of that jaw discomfort.
