HoLEP Saves the Day: Redefining Salvage Therapy in Benign Prostate Surgeries in Urology. Check out our latest publication - https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00345-026-06539-2.

This publication evaluates the efficacy of HoLEP as a salvage procedure. It provides urologists with data-backed confidence to utilize HoLEP for recurrent or anatomically complicated cases where standard options have already been exhausted. It reinforces the idea that HoLEP isn't just a primary treatment option, but a powerful corrective tool that can resolve ongoing issues when other interventions fall short.

How do you safely screen for prostate cancer after a HoLEP when traditional calculators don’t work? 🩺📊
In our new study, in the Journal of Endourology, we build a better roadmap. Standard risk calculators heavily overpredicted risk, so we developed a specialized preoperative nomogram and a postoperative decision matrix (pictured below!).
💡 The Big Takeaway: Using a postoperative nadir PSA cutoff of 50% gave us a >97% Negative Predictive Value to safely guide risk-adapted follow-up.

This is my second manuscript on AI in urology, and it feels great to contribute again to this rapidly evolving space. AI is opening new possibilities in diagnosis, prediction, and personalized care in urology, and I’m grateful to be part of this journey.
