Every patient story has the power to inspire awareness.
During Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) Awareness Month, we're sharing Amberle's journey to help shine a light on a rare but serious condition that can affect both the skin and eyes.

Her story is a reminder of the importance of early recognition, timely care, and continued advances in ocular healing. At BioTissue®, we're proud to support physicians with Cryopreserved Amniotic Membrane (CAM) treatment options to help care for patients with ocular surface disorders.

Together, awareness can help lead to better outcomes.

Study Spotlight: In a prospective, randomized controlled clinical study of patients with moderate to severe dry eye disease (DED), a single placement of Prokera® was shown to accelerate healing of the ocular surface.

Treatment with cryopreserved amniotic membrane (CAM) significantly increased corneal nerve density while significantly reducing signs and symptoms of DED, with sustained reduction in dry eye for up to at least 3-months.

Evidence matters.

SJS is a rare but serious condition that can affect both the skin and eyes. Because ocular involvement is common during the acute phase, early recognition and timely ophthalmic evaluation are important to help protect vision.¹

At BioTissue®, we're proud to support the ophthalmic community through education, innovation, and a commitment to improving patient care.

This month, we join healthcare professionals in raising awareness of SJS and the importance of early intervention to help improve outcomes.
