Find an affirmation, a mantra, to start your day today with a conscious intention.
Be it giving permission to your nervous system to release, to reset.
Be it visualizing the ocean washing away that which no longer serves you.
Or maybe tuning into your inner tides and slowing down as you allow the natural process to take place in its own time.

What is your mantra, your visualization, your inspiration of the day?

Race weekend recap! šŸ… Tamarindo beach Marathon, the once-a-year running extravaganza has come and went - and I’m overall just grateful to have been able to participate.

Why you may ask? Well besides the fact that this race fell on the last weekend of our 22day immersive Hari OM Yoga & Wellness yoga & Ayurveda teacher training (meaning very intense work schedule for me), I also had a freak accident a few weeks prior. Those who know me have heard my cries & complaints about this over the last few weeks (or even seen some socials posts tho I have been mainly quiet and also wasn’t able to type much).

Anyways, one night I cut myself pretty badly with a brand new chefs knife (too sharp, too heavy, don’t recommend, especially if clumsy). It all happened quickly, but basically I cut my hand cooking and dropped the knife on my food as well as a reaction. I was convinced I cut my tendons on the top of my foot, it was quite painful. I got a couple of stitches on my food and one on the hand, and although looking back at the pics now, it doesn’t look that bad, it was quite painful, a bit scary, just overall inconvenient. I couldn’t properly use my hand for a couple of weeks, taking out the super tight stitches was almost worse than getting them, and I still don’t have full sensation in my finger assuming my nerves got cut (maybe more by the stitch than the knife). I couldn’t walk for about a week, dragging my foot, but then I started recovering quickly and went back to my walks (no running). One day I just overextended the top of my foot too much on the uneven trails around our property that I mainly walk on, and re-injured my foot almost worse than before. Back to lots of healing with compression, icing, red light therapy, all kinds of balms. Basically took one 2 mile walk before the race, felt ok.

I downgraded from the half marathon or 21k, which I ran last year, to a 10k. Showed up at the start line with a plan to take it easy mainly walk. I warmed up well, taped up, wore compression, and felt very well so I ran most of the race at a slow pace and am now super happy to have just made it.

It was a lesson in patience, which for me as a Vedic astrologer makes sense be

Unpopular opinion: You don’t need to look like a polished Instagram aesthetic, nail every peak pose on the first try, or project an image of effortless perfection to be a good yoga teacher.

Somewhere along the way, modern wellness culture tied the depth of someone’s inner practice, and one’s actual knowledge and skill in their craft, to how aesthetic their external image is.

But yoga isn’t performative. It isn’t about gymnastics, and it certainly isn’t external.

What actually matters as a yoga teacher has nothing to do with gravity or balance. It’s about being genuinely educated in your skill, committing to lifelong learning, and staying open to growing your experience on a daily basis. It’s about holding deep compassion—first for yourself, and then for everyone who walks onto a mat in front of you.

Case in point: This is the first headstand I’m practicing after suffering a cutting injury to both my hand and my foot last week. Externally, this shape might not look ā€œperfect.ā€ But internally? I am just so happy and grateful to be able to move and practice this again. Experiencing my body in such a different way and appreciating it for its healing and ability, wherever I am today. Yes, event a seemingly small injury can have such a profound effect.

My practice isn’t perfect. I am not a perfect teacher. Not for everyone. But I am an educated, experienced, and skilled teacher that has dedicated her life and profession to yoga and wellness, and no amount of IG posts can accurately paint that image. As I write this, I’m reminding myself and any other professional who may feel overwhelmed in the sea of ā€œx-figureā€ coaches, ā€œgurusā€ and experts, to go back to our roots and to what genuinely fulfills us (and not feeds the algorithm only, although it’s ok to accept that we also have an online presence especially if our modern work requires that).

Presence, empathy, and real dedication tell a completely different story. So let’s begin with ourselves and then extend it outwards.

What does a real practice look like for you today? šŸ¤šŸ‘‡

Returning to the source. šŸŒ‹āœØ

There is a profound, intelligent healing power held within the Earth, waiting to remind us of our own true nature. Spending time at the hot springs of Rincón de la Vieja, painting our skin with raw, mineral-rich volcanic clay, felt like a deep, sacred homecoming.
In Ayurveda, skin care is never about harsh chemicals or forcing the body into submission. It is entirely non-invasive, honoring the skin (Tvach) as a living, breathing reflection of our internal landscape and the elements around us.

When we apply natural volcanic mud, we are working directly with the Earth (Prithvi) and Water (Jala) elements:

* Deep Detoxing: The potent minerals draw out deep-seated impurities without stripping the skin’s natural lipid barrier.
* Dosha Balancing: The cooling, grounding nature of the clay acts as a beautiful balm for soothing excess heat and inflammation (Pitta), while anchoring scattered energy (Vata).
* True Nourishment: It stimulates circulation, inviting fresh life force (Prana) right to the surface.

True radiance (Tejas) doesn’t come from a laboratory. It comes from trusting the simple, ancient intelligence of the soil, the water, and the thermal warmth of the earth. Nature always provides exactly what we need to heal, purify, and restore balance from the outside in. šŸŒæšŸ§˜šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

Have you ever experienced the grounding magic of a volcanic mud bath? Let me know below. šŸ‘‡šŸ½

It’s interesting how popular, and ultimately beautiful, sunset pictures are. Add to that sunset yoga, and you’re golden (in my world).
I’ve been posting the same since I joined instagram over a decade ago. Maybe not the best for my algorithm and ā€œvisibilityā€ or whatever, but still my favorite way to be on socials.

I saw a post recently encouraging us social media users (and especially millennials generation) to go back to how it used to be. In the crazy surge of AI, misinformation, literal businesses and millionaires being built on socials alone, quarrel and bullying, catfishing, doom strolling… we have the chance to switch our mentality and our interactions. Our digestion and usage of these tools. The post said we basically ruined it by taking it too seriously, and it does resonate with me. So here I am, going back (and going still) with my sunset yoga posts.

What about social media brings you happiness, inspiration, connection? Share your faves and let’s bring back what did work, what did inspire, what did make it worth it.

One of my go-to favorite meals, that is vegan and gluten free, usually a crowd pleaser (I make it for our retreats and it hits a variety of tastes) - yellow curry noodles.

The curry can be made with your favorite veggies, my rotation is broccoli, carrots, spring onion, can use anything from zucchini to cauliflower to mushrooms to edamame. Stir fried with tofu, freshly grated ginger, topped with yellow curry paste, pink Himalayan salt, can be enriched with other spices. This time I added more powered curry for added flavor but no spice (as the paste is pretty hot šŸŒ¶ļø ) and red paprika. Full fat coconut milk is best, and the noodles will absorb it (you can potentially serve the noodles separately or do the curry over rice). A generous splash of lemon or lime, topped with sesame seeds and avocado.

Side of refreshing homemade strawberry basil lemonade. All comes together in under 25min!

Grateful for this amazing journey…
Remembering these moments with great fondness and even a tinge of sadness. It was such a special time and sweet uncertainty.

Happy Mother’s Day to my mom who is fondly called mama by so many and has given me an example of kindness and care.

Celebrating the feminine power of creativity today.

And a huge shoutout to yoga for helping me keep some smidge of sanity in this wild ride.

Vibes, sunsets and just living in the moment.
I have variations of that mantra on repeat when teaching yoga and meditation, but I’m still far from mastering the affirmation. Being here and now.

Unplugging for a while when things got intense so I can reflect and gain a new perspective.
