Long ago, I learned that to be truly happy in this life, you need a selective memory—one that remembers only the good things.
Looking back on a decade of effort, sacrifice, hard work, and dedication, what I find are smiles, newborns, happy families, healthy children, and lives saved. What I find are dreams come true, and a decade becomes simply a beautiful life story to tell.
Marimon Pediatrics was a dream, an idea, an invention of an optimistic little girl, a passionate pediatrician, and a woman who has never quite understood it when someone told her “no.”
“Anything is possible in this life”—that has been my response to every obstacle and to every person who has tried to convince me that medicine, and pediatrics in particular, is not worth it. That the world has changed and that we need to “lower the bar.” That we should be just like everyone else and forget the dreams our hearts inspire us to pursue.
By walking in the opposite direction, practicing ethical, science-based medicine, always demanding the very best from myself and my team, and most importantly, surrounding myself with the love and support of those who truly believe in me, this dream has been nurtured, has grown, and today celebrates its 10th anniversary.
I am eternally grateful for the unconditional support and affection of my loved ones—the few who know exactly who they are. For the trust placed in me and my team by those parents who give us the privilege of caring for their greatest treasures: their children, the angels among us disguised as children whom God gives us.
Happy 10th Anniversary
