A stone from a precious place, a ring from a precious person, a crystal from a special day. Once you start seeing the magic in the mundane, the energy beneath the thing, the world becomes your apothecary, and every little precious thing, an ingredient, in something much larger than the sum of its parts.

Some things don’t require divination. They may come as a clear knowing, one of the most valuable forms of intuition. Claircognizance happens when you just know something. You know how something is going to turn out, or you instantly understand someone without needing the second guessing and detective work that can come with a tarot reading. In fact, divination can even introduce fear and uncertainty when claircognizance is already present. Sometimes you won’t know you are experiencing clear knowing, and you may still second guess yourself, especially if people around you ask why or how; claircognizance does not usually come with a step by step plan. More often than not, it comes in bits and pieces, and lives under the surface of logical understanding, not unlike gut instinct. It’s something you can’t explain why or how you know. You just know. Many people have this gift and don’t realize it. What I know for sure, is that the risk of ignoring what you know through claircognizance can come at great personal cost. Knowing something, even if it’s only once in a while, is a gift, and it’s up to you to act in accordance with the knowledge you are gifted.

Everyone has their own opinions, but personally, I don’t like to approach my relationships from a place of power and control. I approach my relationships to spirit like any other, with integrity, honesty, and mutual respect.

Can you trap a spirit in an object and force them to do your will? Possibly. It depends on the spirit. For a lower spirit this may work but for a powerful spirit, the consequences could potentially be dire. Even if it worked, you would be taking on a whole heap of unnecessary karma that can be avoided through right relationship.

The western concept of divide and conquer doesn’t fit neatly here because spirits are not a western invention. The entire relationship with spirit is meant to be holistic. We start as spirit before we come onto this earth, we communicate and honor spirit while we are on this earth, and we are retrieved and stewarded by spirit when we depart earth. In what scenario does coercion and control benefit one in that regard? Any gain obtained through such measures would be ill-begotten and short-lived.

The spirits that are attracted to you are such because of your entirely specific and unique spiritual, energetic, and DNA signature, perfectly suited to aid you through any hardship that could befall you in life. And vice versa. The spirits that we work with are equally fulfilled by their work through and with us. It is a circle with no end. It needs not adjusting, experimenting, or devising.

The path was laid out long ago. It was discovered shortly thereafter and walked and learned by those who came before us. Our mentors, elders, and ancestors literally are the elevated form of the hierophant of our lives. Hierophants don’t exist in a world without questioning, skepticism, or second guessing- but they do exist as guides who will show us the correct way if we are willing to listen and learn. The correct way being the way of least harm, greatest impact, and overall wellbeing to the community at large.

In a famous story from the bible, Adam & Eve’s first sons presented offerings to God. Abel brought the best meat of his flock, while Caine brought some crops. Caine’s offering was not accepted. Without malice, it simply was not good enough in the eyes of the lord, so the lord didn’t accept it. Regardless of what you think of the bible, the parable is an excellent example of how we should all strive to approach whatever it is we are approaching.

God, Goddess, the Universe, planet Earth, Spirits and Ancestors. We honor them by giving them the very best. The first fruits. In every prayer. Every offering. Every flower, grain, libation, movement. The gift of the very best of what we can offer, even when it would appear small to someone on the outside. After all, we wouldn’t be where we are today without them.

For a long time, I forgot that I could dream things into being just by wanting them. The issue was, I had wanted the wrong things for so long, the universe had begun refusing to give them to me. We are powerful beings. We are vibration. Soul. Spirit. What you can see and feel is nothing… a small, fraction of what you are. What most people don’t realize is that this is a dream. Maya. The great illusion. Just like any other dream, it takes on form from the primordial vibration you emit. In this way, the dream yields to you, opens to you, embraces you. The very atoms and matter that occupy space will rearrange themselves for you, for spirit, if you let them.
