Q&A with PAM Rehabilitation Hospital of Miamisburg's Prutha Javia, PT
Q: Why did you choose to become a physical therapist?
A: It is one of the few professions that treats without medicine - allows people to heal at their pace, regain their independence and get back to doing the things that are important to them with confidence.
Q: Do you have any specialties you are trained in?
A: My clinical experience includes orthopaedic, neurological, and geriatric rehabilitation, in addition to being a certified functional dry needling practitioner.
Q: Where did you go to school and how long have you been a therapist?
A: I completed my physical therapy education internationally and have been practicing as a physical therapist for about 4 years internationally, in addition to continuing my career as a licensed PT in the United States.
Q: What is your favorite part about being a physical therapist?
A: My favorite part is seeing progress that may seem small at first but makes a big difference in a patient’s daily life.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working for PAM?
A: I enjoy being part of a team that focuses on helping patients make meaningful functional improvements.
Q: If your patients were asked to describe you in one word, what do you think it would be?
A: Compassionate
Q: What are your favorite hobbies?
A: I enjoy traveling, exploring new places, spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants and foods, and enjoy the outdoors.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: I love vegetarian food, savoury and flavourful. I also enjoy trying different cuisines when I travel.
Q: If money and time were no object, where would you vacation?
A: I would love to take adventurous trips through national parks—enjoying beautiful scenery, hike, chase sunsets, and connect with nature.
