Itโs our 5-year wedding anniversary!โจ
It may have been mid dart throw at Jackโs Locust Street Tavern, or perhaps while ablaze an Iowa backcountry 12-foot bonfire, but somewhere along the way during our multi-year chiropractic college friendship, we realized something greater was intended and there was a larger purpose at work here.
Thus began our work of preserving and protecting something we apparently had been assigned to preserve and protect, whatever exactly that was we had, and still have no actual idea. But we donโt need to. We just know itโs pretty important ๐, so we humbly accepted the task, and continue to accept it to this day.
And so when youโre blessed enough to realize that the work youโre here to do together is very important, it becomes necessary that you take the steps required to set yourself up to do it. Our first 5 years of this sacred covenant called marriage have been learning what is most important for us to stay on Godโs path and as gently as possible letting go of what is not. It is honestly really, really difficult sometimes. From the outside looking in, it probably looks easy, but if you know us you know there are large and stressful business deals and decisions with much inherent risk, a commitment to authenticity that requires difficult but lovingly honest conversations, shared value building that can lead to inter relationship conflict necessitating growth to learn new ways of resolution, and the challenging process of distilling our most important relationships. We put in the work. Tough but satisfying work. And so so worth it. Set the stage, so to say.
And so what is next?
