I'll be offering an online Emotion Awareness & Skills Group for Men starting in next week. Please share with anyone you think might be interested! These groups are an opportunity for men to learn ideas and practices to help them relate with emotions with more flexibility and openness. The group will include an engaging blend of emotion awareness and regulation concepts from psychology, and practices that help men get in touch with themselves and others in more satisfying ways. There will be invitations and opportunities to share and connect with others at your own comfort level. More info and registration at: https://www.eyeofthehearttherapy.com/psychotherapy-for...

Connection Night for Couples: 7:30 - 8:30 pm January 12, 2023 and more dates TBA: Wanting to make more time to connect as a couple? Looking for a fresh way to prioritize and nourish your relationship?

“Connection Night” is an online, from-the-comfort-of-your-own-home evening hour where couples can slow down, relax, and be supported in practicing presence together. You’ll be part of a small group of couples exploring connection practices and communication tools. Couples therapist and mindfulness teacher Zubin Mistri will guide a short mindfulness meditation, followed by a few embodied, mindfulness-based relational practices for you and your partner to explore with each other. These will include speaking and listening intentionally, shared movement and touch, and other explorations to help you connect and relax together. There will be invitations to share your experience with and be seen by the group as a couple, but no pressure to do so. Connection Night is supportive, playful and restorative space to attune to yourself and your relationship more deeply.

From the Dalai Lama's letter yesterday: "If there is something to be done—do it, without any need to worry; if there’s nothing to be done, worrying about it further will not help."

"The old soul that dwells at the core of each person has a tolerance for chaos and an instinct for survival. Not in the simple biological terms of survival of the fittest, but a complex involvement with hidden aspects of creation. We can only come to know our soul when the chips are down, when there’s nothing else to do but take on a bigger imagination of the cosmos and of our place within it. The return of cosmic order and cosmic sense always happens at the edge of the abyss, on the brink of disaster where life and beauty and meaning are snatched once again from the teeth of chaos."
- Michael Meade, "Awakening the Soul"

Being Home: Finding Ground, Soothing Fear, and Staying Close to what is Essential in Uncertain Times.

As uncertain times challenge us, they can also be an invitation to connect more deeply with what is essential in life. These online meetings will offer a gentle space to be in the company of other men in a slowed down, supportive spirit. Zubin will offer perspective and practices including shared silence, guided meditations, and connecting among participants to support soothing body, mind, and spirit. All who identify as men are welcome. By donation.
