ONE YEAR of Active Alignment Chiropractic 🎉

I honestly can’t believe it’s been a whole year. When I opened these doors, I wanted to build something different: a place where care is built around how you move, train, and live. Thank you to every single person who has walked in, trusted me with your body, sent a friend my way, or cheered me on from the sidelines. You made this year what it was, and I’m so grateful.

And what better way to celebrate than with a party? 👀

TOMORROW (Saturday, 10/10), Middlebury Hamlet Plaza is hosting an Open House! Come meet the businesses that make our little plaza so special. Here’s a little secret: if you stop into EVERY business, you’ll be rewarded with some goodies 🎁

I’ll be offering FREE stretching from 11 to 12, so come loosen up, say hi, and celebrate year one with me!

See you tomorrow 💛

Let’s talk about those circles you’ve seen on athletes (and maybe on me)

Cupping uses suction to lift the skin & fascia instead of pressing down on it. That lift creates space in the tissue, brings in blood flow, and helps loosen areas that have gotten “stuck” & densified. When tissue gets irritated or overworked, it tries to fix itself by laying down a messy layer of fibers. Cupping helps break that up so your tissue can move and glide the way it’s supposed to.

There’s more than one way to cup, let’s talk about it 👇🏼

Static cupping-
The cups get placed and stay put for a few minutes. This is great for stubborn, stuck spots that need focused attention and more time to let go. (I like to add on red light for extra benefits when doing static cupping ✨)

Active / gliding cupping-
I add lotion/emollient and slide the cup along the muscle. This works a bigger area, follows the lines of your tissue, and feels a lot like a deep massage with a lift instead of a push.

Cupping with Movement-
This one’s my favorite. We place the cups and then have you MOVE: cat/cows, threading the needle, rotations, whatever your body needs. The tissue gets lifted and loaded at the same time, so you leave with better mobility you can use in the gym, on the field, or in everyday life.

And yes, the marks are normal- I monitor your skin while the cups are on to avoid blistering on the skin. The residual marks are a sign of blood flow coming to the area, and they fade in a few days.

Curious if cupping is a fit for you? Ask me at your next visit or book through the link in bio!

Let’s talk modalities!

Dry needling is one of my favorite modalities for tackling active trigger points. Trigger points can cause local or referred pain patterns. By dry needling directly at the active trigger point we can relive muscle tension, reduce pain, improve blood flow and increase mobility.

Depending on the reason for dry needling, I will sometimes pair it with electric stimulation to get direct activation (muscle contraction) out of the desired muscle.

It’s important to note that dry needling is a short term fix. You must use this new found range of motion/ pain relief as a window to ACTIVATE the muscle afterwards for long-term results.

Any questions on dry needling?

I don’t care that you missed your Monday workout because of the holiday.

I care that you continue with the rest of your training week- today, tomorrow or even Saturday.

Pick up right where you left off.

Be better than you were yesterday.

Backyard Bootcamp Episode 1! 💪

Save this for your next at home workout! If you’re short on time, discard a round or ditch a set.

(Disclaimer this was sped up for attention span purposes- do everything slow & controlled)
