As many of my clients know, I recently started massage therapist school and that I was so nervous to start school again. Today on this beautiful Sunday, it was put on my heart to share a few reasons on why this became my path.
Last year I was drowning, that is the best way to put it. I had everything going for me, I had my dream guy as my husband, I had a home that we were able to make rent, a supportive and loving family, I owned my own business that was flourishing. Yet I was drowning myself in sadness, doubt, and a want to do more but no where to go. So one day I was laying in my bed crying, on my last leg I said a prayer. I have always known of God and grew up in a God fearing house hold, but didn’t truly know him for me. I prayed for more, I prayed for relief, I prayed for happiness and self worth.
Fast forward beginning of Summer, I still wanted more and was getting frustrated with God because nothing was changing. I was working on myself, my outlook, and my mindset. I continued to pray for change even though I was upset because I knew God was using this waiting season as a lesson for me. After a couple more months it was like a light switch finally turned on. I was getting what some people call a coincidences over and over leading to massage therapy. From family members, to random people on the street, to billboard signs in Washington. Everything was telling me to follow through even though I was nervous and didn’t think I would ever go back to school.
Fast forward to today, I have been in massage therapy school for a week and I am already overwhelmed with homework. Part of my homework for anatomy and physiology is coloring. Very time consuming and detailed. Yet I thought back to last year when I was praying for something to fill my time with to keep me from drowning in my feelings. Then was when all of the dots connected. Even though this task is not my favorite one, it is everything I prayed for. On this day and everything I am extremely grateful for my new adventure and my new best friend that has had his hand on my shoulder the whole time. I LOVE YOU JESUS!
