Ma*****na affects how the brain and gut talk to each other.

• 🧠 Brain → Talks to the gut
• 🍔 Stomach → Slower emptying
• 🔄 Intestines → Constipation or diarrhea

If these keep happening, ma*****na may be part of the problem.

• 🤢 Frequent nausea
• 🚽 Repeated vomiting
• 💢 Belly pain
• 🎈 Bloating
• 🚫 Trouble eating

“Legal ≠ Harmless”

✔️ “Legal for adults”
✔️ “Regulated by the state”

But it:
⚠️ “Can cause vomiting”
⚠️ “Can slow digestion”
⚠️ “Can harm teen bodies”
Legal doesn’t mean safe for teens.
Stop smoking ma*****na: save your brain, gut, lungs, time and parent’s money!

Does your well-fed, well taken care of baby cry for what seems like no reason? This is what is known as colic, a fright for many new parents. Some quick ways to help ease colic are to take a stroll with your baby, swaddle them, or try a warm bath. Most importantly, make sure it is not an allergy to their formula or to something his/her mother is exposed to and passes through her breast milk. A quick appointment with a pediatric gastroenterologist can help ease any of these concerns!

Back to school season is notorious for gastrointestinal issues in the pediatric population known as irritable bowel syndrome. It is provoked by school pressure, stress, lack of bathroom time, inability to drink water on time and sedentary life. It takes a toll on nerves and muscles of the gastrointestinal tract. Constipation, diarrhea, sensation of acid burn, abdominal pain in particular in the morning before school, can lead towards thinking about irritable bowel.
So if heartburn, constipation, diarrhea, sensation of acid burn, abdominal pain bothers a child, toddler or infant consultation with pediatric gastroenterology will be helpful.

Newborns sleep for long stretches of time. However, sometimes fuss when put to sleep on their back. Do not give up and allow the baby to sleep on their tummy, as this sleeping position is linked to SIDS, or sudden infant death syndrome. By swaddling your little one, you can make them more secure and comfortable on their back!

Frequent smaller feeding sessions will help prevent some post-feeding vomiting. If your baby vomits often or forcefully, let your pediatrician know!

What could this post possibly be about? What came from the deep? Fish of course! Besides being a great lean source of protein, fish such as salmon, sardine, Atlantic mackerel, cod, herring, lake trout, and tuna are wonderful sources of omega 3 fatty acids. These are wonderful for our health. They can help our eyes, our brains, help with ADHD symptoms, and fight inflammation. However, be sure to get fish from a good source to avoid fish that have consumed heavy metals such as mercury.
