What is a health inspiration hero? It's someone who inspires healthier living and strengthens our community through compassion, resilience, service, and leadership.

In August, we asked you to nominate your health inspiration hero for a chance to win tickets to a Cincinnati Bengals private practice, and we are excited and honored to announce our winners!

As a cancer survivor, lifelong Cincinnati Bengals fan, and avid music lover, Kendra Wilson feels it's an honor to sing the National Anthem at the Crucial Catch game, which celebrates cancer survivors and promotes regular screenings for early cancer detection.

Kendra submitted her video audition to sing at Paycor Stadium and was selected out of dozens of nominations. Manager of onboarding and transitions for Kettering Health Medical Group, Kendra plans to spend the next week practicing and preparing for the game on Oct. 4.

“It’s such a huge honor to not only represent the team that you love and your country, but to represent the company that you’re so proud to work for,” she said. “That’s huge.”

When Kendra Wilson sings the national anthem before the Cincinnati Bengals’ Crucial Catch game, the moment will carry special meaning.

This week is National APP Appreciation Week!

Every year, this observance honors physician assistants, nurse practitioners, certified registered nurse anesthetists, clinical nurse specialists, certified nurse midwives, and behavioral therapists.

Because of their commitment to their patients, several of our APPs have been nominated for National APP Week awards, which celebrate the achievements and contributions of APPs to healthcare throughout the country.

We’re so grateful for the Advance Practice Providers across Kettering Health who bring their best each day for our patients and communities.

Prostate cancer is one of the most treatable forms of cancer. In fact, nearly 100% of men diagnosed with prostate cancer can expect to survive five or more years.

And yet, most men don't schedule their routine screenings.

Dr. Austin Williams, a primary care provider, and Dr. Jorge Arzola, a urologist, ease the fears men may have surrounding prostate cancer exams.

Prostate cancer is one of the most treatable forms of cancer. So, why don't more men schedule screenings to be cautious?

Kettering Health now offers Daraxonrasib, a newly approved treatment for pancreatic cancer, one of the deadliest and most difficult cancers to treat. Clinical studies showed the drug significantly improved survival compared to standard treatment options.

Before receiving FDA approval on Aug. 26, 2026, Kettering Health was among 12 hospitals in the state selected to provide Daraxonrasib through an Expanded Access Program, allowing eligible patients to receive the treatment sooner.

Expanded Access Programs help connect patients with promising therapies before full FDA approval, providing new options for those facing serious illnesses with limited treatment pathways.

“Being selected for the Expanded Access Program reflects the expertise of our oncology and pharmacy teams and our commitment to bringing innovative treatments to patients as quickly as possible,” said Brendan Rasor, PharmD, manager of pharmacy infusion at Kettering Health. “Now, with FDA approval, even more patients have access to a treatment that offers new hope in the fight against pancreatic cancer.”

Behind every clinical advancement in cancer care is a dedicated team making it possible. We’re grateful for our oncology and pharmacy teams who help ensure patients have access to leading treatment options!
