75 years ago today, at Newport’s Vernon House, our agency began our non-profit home health mission to care for all who needed us. In a ceremony yesterday, Newport Mayor, Charlie Holder has declared November 15th, “Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice Day”. On this day, we celebrate our founders and all the dedicated staff and leaders who came after them.

Hospice is not a place, it’s a way of caring. It can happen at home, in a care center, or anywhere a patient calls home. Hospice care is about comfort, dignity, and respecting your wishes. Most importantly, it meets you where you are.
